Being that i don't have a garage this is being done outdoors and its difficult to move the hoist along the ground.. it rained a couple days the ground got soft and the engine and hoist fell over a few times while i was trying to put it in and doing this alone isnt making it any easier but anyway after a few days of trial and error i finally got this thing in and sitting properly...
  3. Ok Picked up a small mig welder of ebay with the condition the truck is in i decided that welding is something i wasnt getting away from so i was ready to try my hand at it.. so decided to give it a go.. :teehee: Wanted to paint inside the engine bay so i could start putting the motor back in So my first attempt was some rust holes under the battery tray cut the rust out with the grinder and cut some pieces of sheet metal to to weld in... hehe :rotfl2: not sure if thats how its done but gave it a try .. Went ahead and paint the entire engine caompartment with POR-15
  4. Started painting after cleaning up the engine and after a few cans of Rustoleum High Heat from home depot was very pleased with how it turned out...was the first time i ever painted any thing..YAY Meee!!!

  8. Hi I was just wondering Which components from the RC xj x-series kit wouldn't fit on the mj cause i'm thinking it might be cheaper to get that kit since it has a lot of the upgrades i wanna put on my mj like the sway bar disconnects.. track bar.. adjustable upper and lower control arms etc...if i were to get the mj kit which doesn't come with alot of the stuff the x-series kit has and purchase the extra stuff separately it would amount to more than that xj x-series kit cost any feedback would be greatly appreciated
  9. Thanks limeyjeeper but I don't think that's the correct part I had already seen that part and it looked like part of the fender which actually attaches to the part I'm looking for...but then again I may be wrong
  10. Yes buckwheat that is exactly the part...I am unable to get it at a salvage yard is there any place i can buy it new?
  11. Does anyone know the part number for the fender brackets on a 97+ xj needed for headerpanel swap on MJ or even better where can I purchase them

  21. ^^^ Correct. And I believe you posted in one of your first posts that there are a lot of Cherokees even though there aren't many Comanches. Remember, the Comanche was the pickup truck version of the Cherokee -- just like the Ranger and the Explorer. The floors are different so the seat risers won't interchange, but otherwise basically everything from the rear of the car forward is the same as from a 4-door Cherokee. And the Cherokee started two years earlier, so for a dashboard cover you have your pick of 1984 through 1996 Cherokees. Would the 95 cherokee dash fit?...it looks different

  23. Have never did this sort of thing before but managed to do a little bit toward pulling out that motor... Noticeable problems so far steering gearbox is leaking very bad also valve cover is leaking noticed some water leaking under the engine don't know if it's the water pump or a hose or something my guess is the water pump..needs new starter as well and alternator doesn't look pretty either all hoses might need replacing saw a few broken wires maybe the guys on here can help me identify and repair them..
  24. Thanks for the suggestions I would love to change the dash out but Comanches are very few here I doubt I would find a replacement dash think I'm gonna try some type of repair of some sought if I don't like it I'll just get a dash mat and cover it
  25. Hi the top of my dash board is cracked I guess from excessive sun is there anyway to upholster the dash or restore it somewhat...I can't contemplate changing the entire dash any alternatives?
