  1. I've clearly failed to keep this thread going. However i have the full 97+ swap, 4x4 swap & RHD swap mostly complete. Fine tuning the LS that's in it now & getting everything buttoned up. If i remember I'll add a ton of the progress photos here. If not, i have a page on Facebook called "Project Wrong Side" with my progressive post.
  2. Just so you know. I'm the new owner of Black Betty. I went 5 hours southwest for it yesterday. My goal is to finish what you started. I already have an LS Comanche. So 2 v8 Comanches will be lovely.
  3. Been a bit busy stripping xjs, working & such. But made a goal to have this done by May. Even if it's 7 different colors. Installed bumpers. Located a 241 drivers drop. Few leads on a TH400. I don't want no electronics attached to the shifting. Reason I chose the TH400.
  4. Set the 5.3 in for clearance testing. Manifolds will definately be on the list. As well as alternator relocation.
  5. Novak Adapters LS Mount Install
  6. Finally got around to pulling the 5.3 out of the donor.
  7. Door Swap! I have to adjust the doors however & drill the bottom striker hole.
  8. On Thanksgiving morning I went out & got my donor for the motor. 2004 Chevy Suburban. 5.3 V8. I'll pull it apart & sell what I don't need to recoup some funds.
  9. I decided against the normal 4.0 install. With the cost of rebuilding a 4.0, rebuilding into a 4.6 stroker or a rebuilt 4.0 & adding supercharger/turbo. A LS would be the best with cost & gains. Ordered the Novak Adapters LS Mounts for XJ/MJ.
  10. Both seats installed. I also installed the snek gauge kit from Azzy Design Works. Front seats bolted in with the Hawley Performance mounts. Obviously had to drill the holes for the rear.
  11. Patched the "drivers floor". There was tons of small hole's all around it. Also installed the Hawley Performance seat mounts.
  12. Dana 35 removed. 8.25 Installed with SOA. Perches aren't welded in yet. Removed rear bumper & installed my 7s Motorsports steering.
  13. Dash is mostly mounted.
  14. Gearbox is mounted. Still have to sleeve the unibody for it.
  15. Picked a 1999 Jeep Cherokee up to strip. Front clip was in decent shape. Drivers fender will need to be replaced. But for mockup it'll work. Front clip updated.
  16. 2wd axle & full front suspension removed. Long Arm going in place along with a HP30.
  17. Cutting the firewall out of the 1997. We wanted to cut more than we actually needed.
  18. The 1997 Jeep Cherokee Donor. Dash pulled. Driveline pulled. I planned on using this 4.0, aw4, & 231. But plans changed.
  19. Began the interior gutting.
  20. Pulled the 4.0 & ba10. Ended up selling it off. As well as sold the front bumper/header panel due to not needing it.
  21. Ended up picking a 6.5" Long Arm for $550. Turned around and sold the leafs & trackbar for $300 because it won't work with my build.
  22. So I've finally decided to do a build thread over here. Picked a 1988 Jeep Comanche up few months back. 6 hours round trip. Originally from Arizona. I bought it outside Detroit Michigan. Had the 4.0 5 speed 2wd setup but was pretty clean. I had a 1997 Jeep Cherokee Right Hand Drive sitting around with a rotten unibody. So I decided to make a 1997+ Right Hand Drive Comanche.
  23. I have a buddy that's going to take over my project. So it's safe from scrap. He's coming up tomorrow from mid Indiana to pick her up without bumpers.
