Super thanks for getting this listed for me. Is the wheel code for the turbines?

Pioneer , 4x4, short bed, 5 speed, Grenadine Metallic original paint, bench seat. Loaded with options and has the original sport bar frame mounted brackets from the factory still on the truck. Cruise, tilt, factory fog lights and more. Diamond in the rough that I was lucky to get cheap. Texas truck it’s entire life. Will live the rest of it’s days in Ohio. .

1990 Eliminator. The journey of Black Bird.

So I yanked the front dif yesterday. Out with the old and in with the new. It’s getting a 4.11 and Detroit Tru-trac. New ball joints, bearing, brakes and seals. Plus a nice paint job. Then a bunch of new JKS suspension, stainless braided brake lines, Bilstein shocks and OME springs. -

I reinstalled the bed this week and got a good measurement for the rear shocks. They are on the way now. Other new parts that showed up at the shop during this blizzard include the Hella H-4 headlights with the heavy duty harness, Tomco IAT sensor, new EGR valve from sunny California, all the front suspension pieces except for the stainless braided extended brake lines. I haven't started on yanking the Dana 30 yet but it is next on my list. couple more "out of paint photos". I had my paint guy paint the JEEP letters on the tailgate before clearcoat. Smooth as a babies @$$ and no stickers. This Jeep was sold new from Denver Jeep/Eagle Colorado. It still had the dealers emblem on the tailgate and my painter is restoring it p put it back on the truck. The inside of the bed is literally dent free and my initial plan was to Linex it. I may end up having my painter paint it like new since I have an original JEEP bed mat to put in the bed. -

Hell creek 3" springs in the rear. gave me 3.75 upon initial installation. Should settle to 3" to 3.25". I am adding a set of adjustable shackles to pick up another .5 to 1". The fronts are OME 2.75" springs with JKS ACOS for a minimum of 3.25". I can adjust the front for additional lift after I get the winch and carrier all mounted up. With the ACOS I have adjustability and no need for the poly spacers. -

this week I was also able to finish the rear lift and differential install. I painted the Hell Creek spring pack with a mixture of Rustoleum #7777 oil based satin black and Acetone. I mix it 50/50 and spray it out of a gun and it is an excellent finish. It's the best thing I have found for a satin black chassis finish. It dries fast and hard and is very durable. Added new clear coated brake lines and a stainless brake extended hose to compensate for the 4" lift. Next up is pulling the front end and getting the ACOS installed. Getting closer with this one. -

so I was able to find 6 of the egr valves in California. 6 different PEP BOYS had one in stock. Got one shipped and should be here tomorrow. Other items ordered and on the way for this week: Tomco IAT sensor. This will be mounted in the air box, not the intake manifold. Bilstein front and rear shocks Bar pin eliminators for the front shocks. JKS adjustable upper control arms JKS lower adjustable control arms JKS sway bar quick disconnects JKS Adjustable track bar front extended stainless brake lines front sway bar isolators steering stabilizer and shock boot. The interior is completed except for installing the Hurst Shifter. There is a layer of dyna mat on every interior metal surface including the roof. I did a double layer under the carpet along with a heat shielding 1/8th foam pad as an insulator as well. Every single piece of interior panel/plastic was disassembled, cleaned and sprayed with the correct color matching SEM vinyl dye. The leather wrapped steering wheel was also refurbished and looks like new again. The original seats were soaked in Purple Power (full strength) and let set for 24 hours, then pressure washed with 140 degree water. After a week in front of a fan they were dry and look like new again. -

And this morning the vendor on the west coast refunded my payment for the new EGR valve. He is “out of stock” like everyone else. I’m going to call Standard in the morning and ask them to build me one I guess. -

thanks for the compliments guys. It's been a long labor of love for sure. I have spent the last week looking for a new EGR valve for this. I tried everywhere and nobody had it in stock and nobody could order it from any distributor either. Today I found one in Canada for 267.00 CA. Then I found ONE on the pacific coast for 105.00 shipped. Their web site says it is in stock and it let me buy it so I am crossing my fingers that it shows up next week sometime. As for the other sensors the truck is showing 146 thousand miles on the odometer. The harnesses and plugs all look like new but I decided to change every single sensor when going back together. I am going to move the IAT to the air filter box as well so I am buying the Tomco piece and building a new harness. Spent the day today bead blasting misc. parts in prep for paint. Also sourced the rear Bilsteins and got them ordered. My plan is to get the rear axle and springs back in the truck and start pulling the front diff out next week. I also picked up the resurfaced flywheel. -

at this time I am not going to use the factory eliminator wheels. I am going to have Keystone refinish them though. I have a set of low mile 16" TJ Moabs for it. As for Carlisle I might make it, depending on some other factors. -

My painter does some of the best work I have ever seen and when it comes to black he is an artist. The truck came out laser straight. -

after disassembly I took the engine down the road to a machine shop/engine builder. Guy builds 3000 horsepower tractor pulling engines so i figured he could make the little 6 cylinder all better. I'll post up the engine build specs tomorrow. I finished disassembling the truck and took it to my painter. Although the truck was original paint it had a hundred dents in it. it had not been babied for sure. It was supposedly used as a farm truck to haul hay to cattle in it's later years. -

I have lots of room. Best thing I ever did was build a 106x60 shop. I have a paint room, two parts rooms and plenty of heated space to work on this stuff all winter. One thing I am lacking is a lift but hoping to fix that this spring. -

Thanks. The floor boards in the truck would pass for new. I was shocked myself. Low humidity and no roads salt, plus the factory undercoating kept this one really nice. -

that's what I was thinking....brakes brakes brakes....... I tow a little with my 2001 XJ and with the upgrades and 4.11 diffs it has plenty of power to get going. It's the stopping part that I have to be careful with. I think the brake upgrades you are doing will be a big improvement. Nice build -
I have one on my XJ. I am going to put one on my MJ as well. Before I remove the one from the XJ and have it duplicated I thought I would throw this up here to see if anyone has one they want to part with. It needs to be the updated version with the recovery points up top. any condition or color is fine. Need just the winch carrier no bolts or other hardware.

After getting the truck delivered to Ohio it needed a good pressure washing and I took inventory of everything I had. Just about every single piece was there except for a few small bolts and screws probably lost along the way. I started the disassembly process. I also started stripping the original paint in prep to take it over to my painter. I completely disassembled this truck without using one single drop of PB blaster and i didn't break any bolts or find any rust. I was amazed at how easily it came apart and how clean ever y thing was. Rust free Colorado truck for sure. the floorboards look like new after i got the carpet pulled out. -

A few more pictures of purchased condition. Truck still has the original date coded spare tire on the correct wheel. It appears the truck had blown a head gasket and had been partially disassembled. All the removed parts were in a large plastic tub in the bed of the truck. The AX15 and transfer case appear to be the original pieces and do not look like they have ever been out of the truck. all the tags are in place on the diffs. -
In February of 2015 I had just finished the build of my 2001 XJ. It was a rust free Jeep from southeast South Carolina that was the perfect specimen. I often do things in pairs (mustangs, Broncos, old trucks, boats....etc.) so I began a search for the perfect mate to the XJ. I had a few requirements. The truck needed to be a short bed, rust free, original paint and drivetrain. After several months of searching I bumped into Yellaheep here and ended up buying one of his many Comanches he was hoarding. It's a 1990 Eliminator, original pint, drivetrain, short bed, Dana 44 rear diff, time capsule. The perfect truck for my plans. Over the past 6 years I have spent hundreds upon hundreds of hours working on the truck and I have also been documenting the progress with photos. I am getting close to getting the truck finished so at the urging of a couple members here I am going to start a build thread. Enjoy. First a few photos of the condition upon purchase.
