  2. Just by looking at the mpfi renix 2.5 style alternator may need to be relocated with renix bracket or a new pulley to change serpentine to old v-belt system. The obvious computer, dash cluster, harness, fuse block, plug and play etc. I am doing the mpfi swap! I hear a lot of talk and no pictures, I know someone has done this before or tried. Is it more simple to replace as whole drivetrain and what of new trans sensors. Does the intake even fit? ax-4 has a speedo cable and no sensors, does the crank sensor read the teeth on fly wheel the same? Anyone with experience in this please enlighten me. I don't like blindly slapping parts in the dark.

    MD guys

I'm out of prince Frederick, solomons outside of D.C no wheeling here as far as I know. I'm down for a ride in a few weeks on a mild 2.5 build. Just waiting on my tires to get here and a couple other trustworthy wheelers (i.e. no jeep left behind act). Any like minds for a mild trail ride text or PM me. 2108709310 Oh ya my jeep is texas proven so apologize in advance for the ugly.
  4. Oh btw my chiltons book was a birdnest of diagrams check another jeepers wiring for reference or other reliable source. Solder, heat shrink and good luck buddy.
  5. Have an 86 with similar issues except for me it was when I would use the e-brake the headlights popped the fuse, turn signals were intermittently working when they wanted to and after addressing the previous post with trailer connection which was hacked I still had problems. After checking behind the e-brake on that fuse block I had all kinds of corrosion from a leaking windshield seal at the dash. Pull that S.O.B. disconnect the battery, spray dialectric cleaner and air nozzle to dry. Rinse and repeat lol. Test that first then check turn signal cam under the steering wheel and headlight switch.
  6. I'm trying to follow you guys on this with my own donor swap, just a little lost. I have an 86 2.5 custom 4x4 and my donor is a 91 4.0L auto 2wd. If I'm understanding this right the t-case splines are different and I may need to swap the yoke on the driveshaft as well right? output shaft from the trans isn't the same spline from ax4 and the length differs from 4x4 to 2x4? In any case I will freeball the front differential until a t-case is available. I have ecu, clusters and a motor swap in front of me now, cart before the horse right. Plan on swapping everything back into the donor and give it to my 17yr old brother. So leave the t-case for him to find a front end in the future assuming he don't wreck it another club member guys! Any good tech advice on my swap?
