  1. my dj5 was my first vehicle, got it when I was 15 and loved jeeps since. got an xj for a baby hauler and loved it and wanted a truck version for work and thought of chopping an xj, but didn't wanna do the work... so I looked for an mj and couldn't find one...bought a gmc Sonoma 2.2l and it doesn't do it for me, even tried aftermarket parts to make me happy with it and didn't work...so I finally found a Comanche 3 hours away, bought it and towed home . :MJ 1: .
  2. the trucks red but I can paint the visor
  3. patiently waiting for results...

  5. Looking for a sun visor and roll bar for my 89 comanche eliminator swb 4.0 manual 2wd thanks
  6. ok thanks I will look into it when outta work I accidentally turned the key too far without my foot on the clutch and didn't expect it to try to start, didn't know if there was a switch in there to stop that but I'm not too worried about it. I'm not sure if hazard work, will check that out...
  7. Hi I posted this in the pub as well, sorry for duplicate posts, I'm new to the forum. I have recently bought a 89 Comanche eliminator 4.0 5 speed swb 2wd It is basically rust free and got it for $900 not running. towed 3 hours to get it home. It was a father son project and they put in a rebuilt motor with 0 miles and left the broken one in the bed. He said all it needed was an ecm but it didn't... I got home and put in a battery, key lock cylinder (he had no keys) and a cps and fired right up  had to tinker with distributor (was off by a tooth) and swap plug wires to make it run good. (PO had them wired to wrong cylinders ). The ac was rigged to a switch under the hood and there were cut wires everywhere as well as emission hoses. I pulled emissions hoses and capped them off and working on wiring still. The problem is my speedo and rpm gauge do not work as well as turn signals. The tach works but its way off (idles under 0 but revs up when I push the pedal) any help on where to start? I thought of just swapping in a new cluster but wasn't sure if that would fix the problem as the other gauges work. O ya and I have no neutral safety switch? if I turn the key while in first gear it will try to start and jump forward. any help is appreciated I know everyone likes pictures so I will get some up as soon as I can . :MJ 1: .
  8. forgot to put its 2wd. the guy I got it from didnt know what he was doing, the cps was there but he smashed it and cut the wires, as for the ac that was rigged he said it was like that when he got it but he said his son knows more...who got deployed :???: he left about 20-30 pages of wiring diagrams on the seat said he hadn't touched it in about 6 months
  9. I'm new to the forum but I just bought a 89 Comanche eliminator for $900 that is rust free and supposedly had a rebuilt motor but 141k on body. truck had no keys and didn't run, he said it was a father son project but his son was deployed to the marine corps. he was under the impression that they blew the ecm. I towed it home and put in a battery and a cps as well as a lock cylinder and fired up, he screwed up a bunch of wires and emission hoses, so capped off emissions and working on wiring still. speedo doesn't work and rpm gauge is way off ( idles under 0 but revs up when I push the pedal) and all other gauges work. no turn signals and ac was rigged up to a switch under the hood  fan in engine bay does not work either and egr seems to be smashed. what do you guys think could fix speedo and rpm problems as well as turn signals? maybe just a new cluster? :crossfingers: Thanks . :MJ 1: . btw will post pics when i can get some uploaded
