The title of the post states MD or Maryland. Erdman ave is in Baltimore,
-
Crazy Ray's on Erdman ave has about 5 XJs, 2 of which are 5spds. an 89 with the peugot trans and a 93 with the AX15. there is newer model with a push bar/grill guard too

not mine http://baltimore.craigslist.org/pts/4963941126.html

thanks, I guess I will pull the transfercase when I get a chance. hopefully it will only need a new chain
-
thanks for pointing me in the right direction. The Quadratech page says that the AX15 has 23 splines and they have seen the AW4 auto with both 21 and 23. I will be pulling the parts truck apart in the next couple of days and will find out then
-
so, they're the same transfercase model, but the input spline count is different?
-
I replaced the chain on a Quadratrac years ago. it's probably a similar job
-
I just picked up a 93 Cherokee with a 5spd that might eventually go into my Comanche. The transfer case on the 5spd grinds going into 4wd and will only work if the engine is turned off first. 2 questions is this an easy fix? if not, will the transfer case from my 87 work in it's place?

Rosedale MD for me. when my truck is done, I would love to do a trail ride. what's up with Stepney rd? mud? hills? rocks?
-
yep, it'll bolt up, vibration and lack of longevity are the side effects

you'll need to have the flexplate match balanced to the one from the 304. your local machine shop should be able to do it, or know where to send it

here's where the frame came apart behind the front spring hanger -
so, every winter, I make sure all the projects are out of the driveway so we can park near the door in the cold weather. Today was the day to do that. I fired up the rusty parts Jeep to use as a push/pull vehicle and got to work. It pulled the Rambler up the hill with ease, but after I backed down to get the non running Jeep and pull it up the hill, I heard a strange clanking noise. I looked underneath and saw this. now, I wondered, how the hell did that happen? and then I saw the wheels were located too far back in the wheelwell then, I looked at the frame and saw it was broken in half! the poor truck has had it, the guy I got it from was using it to haul firewood out of the woods. He told me he retired it because he was afraid it was going to break in half and be stranded in the woods. I'd say his timing was perfect so, I pulled the driveshaft and finished the job with the front axle, you can't keep a Jeep down :)

if one went bad, the others are probably not too far behind it. change as many as you or your mechanic can get to

Making a standard leaf pack into a metric ton

what about an overload spring? the kind that doesn't start working until the other leaves are compressed a certain amount? -
thanks

if my axle (AMC 20) measures 2 3/4", should I buy 3" u bolts? the Dana 35 that came out of it measures 2 1/2" and the parts catalogs list a 2 3/4" u bolt for it.
-
Aussie it is, thanks

Which lunchbox locker has the best street manners? I have an AMC 20 for my MJ and want to start looking at lockers. Most of my wheeling is mud and occasional snow, I think any of the name brands will be strong enough for my rig, so my main concern will be how it will act on rainy roads and will the clunking scare my wife when she drives the truck? thanks
