I like the Chat feature on this style of forum. I used to use them quite a bit on some local TN sites. That might be more worthwhile if it doesn't cost anymore. Much faster and easier to use than a shout box.

This one is getting built RIGHT and will be a daily. I know what I have lol

Update: Used the plasma cutter and grinding wheel on the rear JK D44. The crappy, tedious, time-consuming, not fun work is done! Max the dog helped and wore him out!

Sweet! Thanks

I did I did. Started cutting and grinding on these last night ;)

Sound. A split manifold with true duals sounds neat to those that like it. I ran a piece of 2.5" pipe off of the cat flange. That runs into a thrush welded turbo muffler and then I used a 2.5" 45* turn down right before the rear axle. I get compliments on it regularly and more than one person has asked if I swapped in a V8 after hearing it at idle. I have less than $50 in it. Sweet. Zack put a thrush welded in it. It's still in great shape, just everything else is falling apart ha. Thanks

So what exactly will it look like when you close off the frame? Have a mock-up pic? -

Just quote the wrong post, but you'll know what I mean. :) -

Cutting this out to make it flush with tailgate? What's your plan to cover it up? Just curious. About to do a bumper build as well. -
Off topic, but helpful off topic question... What rear sway bar did you use? Wanting one for the rear as well. looks like a stock front XJ sway bar. But I'm wrong.
-
I am. I know of a few good shops.... We'll see.
-
That's what I ended up getting from my XJ guru friend. Thanks for the info! Just wanted some more input on it besides my buddy. When someone knows every mod for everything possible, it's hard to make a decision lol

Alexia's 1987 To 1997 Comanche
VolsJK replied to Alexia's topic in MJ Hardcore Tech: Epic Journeys to Greatness
Yeah I got nothing done at work today.... thanks. -
***UPDATE*** All parts are acquired for my lift, axle, tire swap. JK sport axles 4.10 gears, chromoly shafts: D30 (trussed, gusseted, ready for high steer, raised TB bracket), D44. -D30 has the Artec truss on it, will need to modify it to refit new spring/shock mount (home-fab). Other than that, it's ready to roll to bolt right up (might have to angle in lower CA mounts a hair) -D44 needs to be completely stripped of all brackets. Fabbing leaf perches ourselves with U-bolt delete plates. JK ruffstuff offset tie rod, stock JK drag link (if it's drivable for now, if not will get a 1 ton upgrade), JK adjustable track bar, second-hand double sheer Iron Rock frame side bracket. RC fixed LCAs, going to use JK UCAs (cut and reweld) for appropriate pinion angle. Front springs: either going with Rough Country 4.5" springs with 1" spacers, or with BDS 6" springs. We'll just see how the rear end sits after the spring-over. Shocks: for now I will use what I have laying around, will measure what is needed at a later date. extended brake lines, still haven't thought about routing the rear. All I lack is the part to convert to rear discs and need to get new rotors and pads. Metal bought for bumpers and JK BFG 32" take-offs. I'll do an extensive write-up for anyone interested in doing this swap.

So needing some advice on what products I need to get. Plan on fabbing pipe myself, but need some guidance. The exhaust from headers back is absolutely falling apart. 92 shortbed 5 spd 4.0 HO. already have new head and gasket from a 97+ (i think, a friend just started giving me stuff lol) manifold: Cat: Muffler: and CAI while we're at it: I want this setup to be NICE. Even show me a full kit. I'm not coming up with much.

Talking about the brush guard! My bad.
-
Welp. It's already gone :(
-
Lol Relyt still has first dibs on the bull bar by the way. haha Bring it!
-
Update: Picked up JK axles. Might actually be trading with a friend who has built D44/D30 JK axles so he can go back to stock to sell. All I lack now is to order new spring/shock/SB-link brackets and tabs.
-
Truth! ^ But damn, that's hideous. lol
-
I'd love for it to be 5.5.... I do have 6.5" springs at my disposable. Would need to buy 4.5" and have spacers already. So. I can get the JK axles for sure now. Gonna take some WORK. I really think I'm gonna do it. They're priced stupidly cheap with everything included.
