I recently have started tearing my MJ apart to give it the proper care that it needs. The previous owner kind of just threw things together and its been bothering me so I am finally getting around to fixing it up. My question is this, I have a few small holes in my floor boards and I am wondering rather than buy all new floor pans would it be possible to use old street signs to patch the floor? I've seen people do this to trunks and things like that but they completely cut out the floor first(Would like to avoid that if possible) and then use signs to replace it. I don't have any access to scrap metal or anything like that, but do have plenty of street signs readily available to me.

Interesting... its still going to come off when I get some HC leaf springs
-
Good to know, I will get to removing it when I replace the springs. The PO cheaply put this truck together(AAL on one side block on the other etc.) so I am going through it and fixing it while I can.

Does any one know what this spring is for? This is my first leaf sprung vehicle and I've never seen an actual spring with one like this... Sorry can't figure out how to post pictures so I just included the link Thanks for the help!

Thank you, thats what I thought but I wanted to be sure before I pulled the trigger on anything... Let the hunt begin lol -
I am looking to replace the door panels on my 91 Comanche... I just want to be sure that I can use door panels from a 4 door Cherokee, or do I need to find some from a 2 door Cherokee? This is my first Comanche so things are still pretty new to me lol... Thanks for all the help!

Looks like I need to go pick up some clear silicone in the next few days... I don't want to buy new tail lights at $100+ for a set
-
yes the red lens is starting to separate from the back, last time I looked at it it was about half the lens, so I've been trying not to mess with it much but it bothers me enough to want to fix it

My tail lights are starting to pull apart and rather than buy a new set(mine are in decently good shape) I would like to see if there is anyway to reseal them. Any input is appreciated!

Thanks guys, I'm sure looking at it it's not too noticeable but it's probably something that would end up bugging me eventually so looks like I need to find a front clip from a cherokee

I am new to Comanches and have seen several with the newer style cherokee header panel. I like the way this looks and would like to convert mine over but have a few questions before I start collecting the parts to do so, do I need new fenders as well as the header panel or will my 91 fenders work? Also are there any years that will not work with my truck? Thanks for the help!

That is a RARE ZJ... its a 5 speed and very very few were made in that color. Definitely post it on NAGCA and let one of those guys take it off your hands, someone there would love to have it.

The tire winch under the bed is gone... Not sure what happened to it or why it was ever removed so that's why I have to keep it in the bed... Looks like I will be getting some sort of chain and a lock

I have a 16" rim and a 245/75/16 tire that I need to mount in my bed as a spare. The issue I am having is keeping it secure in there so that someone doesnt just come up and take it. Does anyone have a tire mounted in there bed? How do you keep it secure? I know if I had a roll bar I could mount it there but I don't and can't seem to find one anywhere around here

I could also use a set if anyone still has some that they are wanting to sell

Any one from OK going to be in Disney for the Big Meats run? Pretty sure I will be out there but not with the MJ, I will have a TJ and XJ out there with me. Would be nice to meet up with a few people from here

Michael Lee's Summit MO 91 LWB 4.0 4x4 5 speed There is some land out here that I have taken my ZJ out on nothing extreme and I'm pretty sure that a stock MJ would have no problem with it, as long as you don't try and crawl the creek.
-
Thanks, I will definitely check them out. That is a great price, and something that I can afford now
-
I ran some custom spacers on my ZJ for about a year, they were nice just didnt really like the ride quality so I would like to stick with coils and no spacers. As far as affordability the lift is going to have to wait for a little until I can get other things buttoned up on the MJ which are more important right now

16" Stock Wheels In 4.5". What Will Work?
MGriff013 replied to shawn's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have two set of 16" wheels for my MJ, one set is from a TJ Rubicon and the other set came off a cherokee but I am not sure what year. I prefer the cherokee wheels just because I think they look better but thats just my opinion. I believe they are the grizzly wheels(gun metal gray 5 spokes) -
I have heard a lot of good things about OME so I will give them a look as well. I'm not set on anything yet just wanting to get some good ideas from people who know more about these trucks than me. I'm used to coils all around. I'm not a fan of rake either so if I can avoid it I would like to do so, no spacers is better. I've had spacers on my ZJ and just didnt like the ride.

It looks like a squished Jeep Compass. I'm not a fan but I'm sure it will sell

I know to avoid Rough Country from building up my Grand Cherokee but thanks for the advice, I have decided that once I get some money in from taxes and can save up a little I will be going with the HC rears and RE front coils, not sure what I want to do for shocks yet. As much as I would love to run Bilsteins they just arent in my budget for the MJ right now

Thanks guys, guess I will be taking a look at hellcreek. I don't mind spending the extra money for something that rides nice since this will be my DD.
