Tire question?........Do you use those tires on the roads and how are they? Ive seen them advertised for sale a time or 2 but they stated not for highway use, just wondering if theyre really "that bad" for a truck that sees very little highway activity and how they performed offroad?
Yep, I ran them on the Freeway getting to the trails. NO trailer queen here, they worked surprising well, G 78 Radial Buckshot Mudders, about 36" with 30 psi. some wine not bad. Offroad they were Great in our NW mud, rocks required LOW air pressure > 6 to 8 psi. never ran them in the sand.
Her name is " leftovers " :rotf: was built from leftover parts off other JEEPs.
Front is mostly original + HD Spicer u-joints - "new" lower ball joints and 4.56 ring&pinion.
Rear is off a Disc-brake Grand Cherokee, Dana 35 + Superior Super 35 diff. up-grade, with a freshly rebuilt Detroit Locker all-ready in it. Cut off all the Coil Spring stuff, installed it spring over with anti-wrap mounts = 6" lift.
Front lift got the rear coils from the Grand + 1.5" spacers = 5.5" lift.
Lower control arms are ?? red, used aftermarket with jonny-joints, installed extended 1" forward for tire clearance.
Other stuff, 3' by 4' 3/8" steel skid pan under trans & transfer case, used as cross-member for trans mount, gained me 2.5" ground clearance. Hand throttle on 5 spd. shift leaver, custom shift knob - I made this.
OH YA, did I mention she's my daily driver. Just went to Roundup Montana son's wedding, Casper Wyoming visit 2 sisters, then back home to Woodland Washington = 2,654 miles.
