Oh okay, I get what you meant. Should I place it in the front or the back? I was going to place it in the back seeing as how I need to still do my SOA and it'd be easier to do it all at once. I have stock gearing so 3.07 I believe. It feels like 3.07.

Its out of an explorer, 94 or 95. And it won't match the back? That's where I wanted to put it. Unless the front is better. On the ad he put "full axle, drum to drum," so I'm going to assume its drum brakes

How hard and what exactly goes into re-gearing the axle?
-
Okay ill see if he will hold it until payday.

Should I pick up a ford 8.8 axle for $120? I wanted/need to regear to 4.88 but it comes with 3.73. Should I keep looking or pick it up? It is a good deal I know that but how much trouble would regearing to 4.88 be? I also found a combo dana 44 rear and dana 60 front for 150. He doesn't know the gearing though.

I hate to keep burdening you all with questions and my inexperience but is the spring over axle doable without welding? I can't find a welder here in my town and I don't want to buy one. Or can I do it and not off road and take it easy until I can weld it? It's my daily driver and right now its sitting with a godawful rake with the front jacked up.

So just a little update. I'm in the middle of the build and it looks like the previous owner put drop brackets in already and @#$%in welded them. So I can't put in my own RE lower, better drop brackets. And then the 5.5" coil springs aren't fitting and are pushing the axle left a little so nothing is lining up to put back together.

Idk what I did or what happened but when I went to check to see if my rpms dropped or rose the whole system came on and it works perfectly now. Damn older cars. The connection to the blower motor might have rattled loose and then fixed itself. Not sure though entirely.

So it could just be a leak? I hope because that will be a relatively cheap fix. I can retrofit it for r134 and then find the leak with dye and repair it.

I'll look today on my way to the gym.

I can't get it charged with r12 anymore. How hard is a retrofit?

Looked around and didn't see any other forums on this so I made a new one. My A/C blew good, but was never ice cold which was fine. I just figured it needed a recharge. The it started blowing super cold for a couple nights on my way to and from work. Then on the third day it just wouldn't turn on at all. It doesn't blow on A/C or vent or heat or defrost. I figured a wire disconnected from the dash but I investigated today and found that when I switch it to any of the options listed above you can hear a faint clicking noise coming from the engine bay, passenger side near the firewall. Any ideas? I checked all my fuses and they're good. Recently put in a new alternator, hopefully that didn't mess anything up.

What To Fix Before It Breaks.

What size lift and brand did you end up going with? It a mix of rubicon express and iron rock offroad -
As the last part of my lift/suspension kit I ordered Bilstein 5100's to replace the current, mountain ryder shocks. I just need the fully extended length so I order the right ones. The truck is going to sit at 6.25 in the front and 6.5 in the back. I need measurements for both front and rear. Thank you in advance.
