  1. haha i kind of slid into a pole this winter with the cherokee, and kinda mashed up the unibody so it the perfect excuse to get a comanche since everything else in the jeep runs like a top.
  2. The donor is a 95 cherokee and the manche is a 92
  3. hey guys I am looking at a 92 cheif 2wd in mint condition, freshly rebuilt engine, D44 rear with slight body damage. Now I am a offroad guy and 2wd just isnt going to stay on there but Ive never switched over before and wondering what I am going to have to do other than swap the front in off my cherokee, does the TFC bolt onto the tranny or will my tranny have to go in there as well? As for drive shafts will i have to order a custom one or is the wheelbase the same?
  4. I'm also in the same boat, how "extensive" is that just including swapping out the front end for dana 30 and fitting a t case in? Also drive shafts etc.
  5. Ok has anyone seen this deal at quadratec? Kits include a radio, low-profile cable, exclusive no-drill antenna bracket & pre-tuned antenna. The radio is a Uniden PRO 510XL 40 Channel Professional Mobile CB that's compact in size to fit almost anywhere in your rig, and is backed by a limited two-year warranty. An accurate 4-segment LED meter displays the signal strength of both the transmitter & receiver. The large easy-to-read LED display shows the channel currently in use. 7 watts of audio output means almost twice as much as normal CBs. A rugged metal housing & microphone are good for years of dependable use. Our specially designed antenna bracket attaches inside the front fender without dilling. Choose a complete kit or individual components as needed.
  6. Hey guys i found another comanche a guy is currently doing a full engine rebuild on. Its a 91 Eliminator 2wd the rear end has just been done also. It has some body damage on the driver side from the door back that could be easily fixed with bondo, sorry i know I didnt have my camera when i went to look at it. Its got 209 000 k on it. He wasnt looking to sell but he has a young child and would take a good offer if i made one. Thats the problem! I don't know what to offer him! The jeep is in mint condition except for the body damage, and i probably won't have to touch the engine for as long as i own it. So I need help ive got lots of time since its not actually for sale though so i need some advice on what it is worth or what i should offer him.
  7. I was just wondering if anyone had put racing style bucket seats into their MJ, if so about how much would they set a person back.
  8. Thanks for the help guys I think I'm gonna go for it since its that price for the work he's put into I I'm pretty sure it will be worth it. Hopefully soon ill have some pics of it to put up
  9. Hey guys I am possibly looking at an 86 manche for 1500 canadian. This seems pretty high to me but they are fairly rare up here, they guy has apparently put alot of work into it and hes says 1500 would barely cover the recent parts hes put into it. It is a 2.5 manual 4x4. If i buy it for this much money it would have to be my dedicated offroader for the near future. My budget permits buying this (keep in mind I am 18 and not making the big bucks)but I'm not sure how much everything else i would want to put on here would set my back.
  10. Has anyone had experience with Rocky-Road lifts? Ive been on their pages for Comanche lifts and they are really cheap compared to others.
  11. lol i know this will sound like a dumb question but whats por 15?
  12. haha yes that was my first thought when i heard of people doing that, I think my most likely route would be to drive the current engine and trans till it kicks the bucket and hopefully have spares by then haha.
  13. thanks yea thats the problem I've had with my XJs is they are great cuz i can keep stuff without gettin snow on it but i can't throw crap in the back and not worry about what its doing to the friggin carpet hahaha. I live on a farm and have a few 350 chevys lying around how hard would it be to drop one of those in there? I know ive seen a couple MJs with one of those beasts.
  14. Hey hey I am so glad i found this site, I was floundering without information about a 86 MJ that I am pretty set on purchasing. Its got a 2.5 L and 4 manual tranny. I'm pretty much asking what experience anyone has and what tips you can offer or what I need to know about owning a commanche. I currently use a 95 xj for my DD, I'm fairely competent in XJ mechanics but Commanches are not my forte. I am planning on using this for my designated offroader but i want to keep it road leagal so i can go show it off once and a while haha.
