  1. Donor is an ax5/np231 out of an 1997 Tj. Truck had ax4. I know there's a few things that need to happen to make that swap work. Back to the motor will the complete renix intake bolt up to the 97 motor? I don't know if the new motor has dpi or tbi. But my thought was if it had tbi the renix intake would bolt right up. And should run fine. I think? Lol
  2. I have a 1989 Comanche that I am doing a Motor rebuild and 4wd conversion at the same time. I have come across a fully functioning 2.5l (which is the motor originally in the truck) with tranny and transfer case. I can get the whole lot for $500.00. What all is necessary to install a late model motor in my truck? I know about any modifications for the tranny and tcase. Just wondering about the motor mainly. Can I just bolt my existing intake manifold to the late mode motor as to not swap wiring and fuel pump and such?
  3. The clutch kit i took off the ax4 is still good and fairly new. Could i reuse that? And just buy a 97 TJ Master/external slave kit? Is the tcase on the '97 a mechanical speedo as well? do i have to change the gear?
  4. I have a 1989 Comanche sport truck. It is a 2.5l 4cyl 2wd. I am in the current process or rebuilding the engine and doing a 4wd swap. I have pulled the ax4 as it is worn out with nearly 350,000 miles on it and intend to replace it with a Ax5/np231 combination. I have sourced a pair from a 97 2.5l TJ. Will that bolt up to my '89 block once i get done rebuilding my engine? and is there any serious modification required to do that swap? Any extra electronics on the '97?
  5. its a 4 spd manual right now. so i would have to do both front and rear axle swaps? i assume since i would have to have the drive shaft shortened the two wheelbases are different? Also the wiring harness around the battery of the donor is shot, would the harness on the mj swap over?
  6. I have a 1989 2.5l 2WD swb Comanche that has nearly 300,000 miles on it. The motor and transmission both need to be rebuilt. I have found an 1986 Cherokee that also has the 2.5L inline 4 but is 4wd with a 5 speed manual. Would there be any major problems i might encounter when it comes to swapping the entire drive train (Engine, transmission, transfer case, & front axle) from the Cherokee to my Comanche?
