  1. its all about balance in the end. well that and how big your b*lls are. waters safe if done correctly built a homemade unit with a low tank warning ( runs window washer fluid, shurflo pump , nos fogger tip which is wet version so converted to dual stage water based on boost pressure...etc). but anyways not the forum or thread for this lol sorry man cheers, jesse it is a gen v s/c you said? if you ever decided to depart with it let me know can always use one for a solid port job and snout milling :)
  2. haha good to know man sorry I'm gung ho for my 3800 now lol
  3. that 3800 you are using what did you end up with? Did you try for the s/c 3800? if power is what you want you are better off getting a reg 3800 and depending on whether its series 2 or 3 mate a gen iv or gen v s/c to it. It will give you a slighlty higher c/r with the none s/c engine. The series 2 would probably suit better as parts are easy to come by for relativaly cheap, and the series 3 unfortunatly is lightly on the pricey side. keep us updated id like to see where you end up. (ps. you do know that the sc on these engines is actually just a positive displacement blower which are inefficient when they are out of there operating range).
  4. yeah I dropped the money for the seals and gaskets figured do it right the first time lol. but high flow oil pump? guess not a bad idea any specific brand choices or is one high flow just as good as the next? how reliable is the elec oil pressure gauge, as I have a mech one I can install with no issues. As well the intake and head are port matched, same with the gasket, didn't think the throttle needed doing as the HO is an improvement over stock. I have also decided to not do the battery relocation since I cleaned up all my wiring and made all sorts of room I think I will put the battery back in stock location, with a new mount tho. And I have a new paint scheme coming do we have any services people on this forum?
  5. couple more pics of the new intake, coil remount, and few other things.... tell me what you guys think
  6. I have seen the remove the lower vents and drop the heater controls down. A local shop did it for a guy for a double din touch screen I'll see if they will email me some pics. but the cut the vents out for clearance then fabbed a block off plate. It seemed straight forward enough. I am ripping that vent out in the next week or so ill take some pics to show whats all back there. Cheers, Jesse
  7. haha Give me some time I am working on a write up with no pics. itll takea day or two for too find my notes? are you going to add piping of any such? (easier without)
  8. I am looking to drop my oil pan tomorrow as there is a dent and i want to take apart my oil pump and clean it anyone here done it, anything i should watch for or.... do I drop the money just to replace it? as well gasket re usable or again just spend the extra cash?
  9. haha good call sorry ill edit that rocker gaurd not bed liner  face is red. brain fart on a side note i have sprayed a bed liner in with a schultz just not whole truck...make sure you cover everything it klings like a mother.
  10. I used some spray on stuff from Canadian Tire. I'm sure it would be cheaper at a paint shop. but i Used a schultz gun to spray it on. worked great is paintable, the first time i did it i painted my lower frame rails red (ill look for a pic). it was all straight forward but I did completly sand prime and re sand the truck. 3 layers of primer, over kill but i wanted to do it right.
  11. Ill see what I can do I think ima scrap my rear bed seats just not feesable how in depth do you need i can rattle a no picture one off probably pretty easy pics will take longer? Jesse
  12. looks amazing love the color. is the bar tied in or just to the box  jesse
  13. easy enough to do if you have a sewing machine and some time and patience. I will see about ripping a spare bucket apart for a demo.
  14. All I can suggest is research and plan. Think of where you want to go with it in the end, Be that a simple install or a complete axle upgrade. Be aware of worst case scenario when doing something and just don't give up. a fixed cost is not always a fixed cost ;) As has been stated the people on this forum seem more then willing to help I have floated here for a long time never getting a membership till recently. I have never seen anything but help (sometimes the oddball moments) from these guys and applaud there attitude. Cheers, jesse Edit: haha good catch I missed that lol it is a statement tho
  15. old: old: not quite done: not quite done: my soon to be custom front emblem...the last part is Winnipeg (my city) and it will be centered underneath custom truck: Tell me what you think all wires were soldered (the right way to the tees) and either removed completely to the connectors if unused or re run and tapped. All the fan relays asm is removed will be putting in dual slim elec fans on a custom temp relay and dual switches. The coil and relay have been moved to just above the firewall, the coil will be beside the relays on an aluminum mounting plate which needs to be polished. the map sensor mount has been polished but not put on in the pics.
  16. Nice clean just get it? any major plans? Cheers, Jesse
  17. haha yes majority of it was by me. I can't take all credit my seats were dismantled and the foam all reconditioned curtousy of the gov. ( my mother is the head of the upholstry department for the jails here abouts so I have access to her vast knowledge, labour and work space). They turned out better then expected there are of course minor issues that in my opinion keep them from being spectacular but hey agian learning exp. youd be amazed what you and a little imagination can come up with. I actually have buckets from my donour truck dismantled and covered in snowmobile leather to be mounted in the rear as well. Quesion for you all I have that FAKE..? rollbar for the jeep can it actually be tied into frame with a kit or make my own would be better? I have no issues fabing a custom one but hey if its there why not use it right. Thank you good to be here I have surfed your forum many times never bothered to sign up. Figured I didnt have anything to contribute. Some more insight into the jeep.... The jeep has had many faces first when i got her in high school she was destined as a street truck. We gathered many parts including everything to install a turbo setup (which never happened since I bought a supercharged car to get my speed fix). I will get build sheet specs eventually but this truck was actually bought new here local and was used as a farm yard truck for a few years then sat for about 6-7 years before i bought it then it has sat in my garage/driveway for 3 years in peices and is now only being put back to a semi finished state. More pics on the way....
  18. haha thank you it had war wounds several but yes home done in the garage with a schultz gun. i had it primer black before spray bomb style looked decent. Thank you for looking tho.
  19. Hi I am new here names Jesse, this is my 89 mj: EDIT: The name is deceiving she is not a swamp donkey it was the name my late best friend gave it when we got stuck in a swamp when it was 2wd. Started out as a 2wd eliminator and of course I was young and d*mb and I swapped a d30 d35 combo in which I took off a donour truck I bought (88 pioneer 4x4). I have Done many mods some bad some good all a learning exp. As it sits the truck is home lifted...Frnt 6inch coils with 3 inch lathed spacers, adj trac, drop pit, sway bar drop, emu shocks, extended brk lines. Rear....rebuilt springs ( wanting to do a custom repack) extended brk line, extended bppv arm, SOA conv. with home made perches and shims ( the first time i did this I didnt use a thick enough metal and i squashed them later on racing a precida). Tires 31 x9x15 mud terrains. The truck has been primed and painted several times this last one is a full body under coating (textured). turned out better then we thought it would and i can scrape away on anything. The interior is all black, the seats are custom home upholstered, the headboard was redone but with a design inlaid with foam ( I did this myself and looking back on it two ppl are needed but it did work). The carpet was removed cond. and sprayed black, the interior doors and floorboards were treated and sealed then undercoated as well. The engine was partially stripped, parts have been painted, HO intake/exh and throttle (ported), oh rewired the engine bay to clean it up, relocated the washer bottle, removed all air (except for pump OBA soon) and egr systems. In process of moving batt to the rear bed. Will add more as I remember all. I will add pics as I figure out how... as with all jeeps she is never quite done... let me know what you think. old engine bay pics are the newest will try for some oldies and new engine bay pics.
  20. that is not a bad option never thought of that did you open that yourself? I forgot to mention i swapped intakes as well to the ho version as well as an ho head.
  21. Anyone ever tried rock guarding there whole jeep...? gives a funny texture look lol. I will try to post pics of the 89 as this is what we did ( in garage with a shultz gun...don't laugh). It turned out rather well except for one door I let a buddy paint and he didnt know when the gun runs out of paint and you keep spraying it just moves the wet paint around and flattens it. I also had the lower frame rails painted rust gaurd red it looked awsome. I origally did a rattle can job with just flat black primer and as long as you take your time itll turn out decent. after about a year and a half you could tell it was rattled but for the first year it looked minty. Ill work on pics can someone help me with posting them?
  22. The peice I made for mine is very basic it consisted of a polyurethane bushing shaved down to the proper size to make not quite a snug fit in the recessed hole. I then took my 89 tps (have done this to an 88 as well) and removed the screw that holds the arm on then i driled a hole thru the center of the bushing the whole way the same size as the screws shank. then i redrilled the bushing (I don't remeber the exact length but you can figure it easly by measure the screw length) so the head of the screw would be sunk into the bushing. This provided me with a base to dremel a flat slot for the newer throttle shaft. I then made a spacer to cover the bushing and gap in between the throttle body and the tps. I will work on pics sorry. I originaly looked at using the newer tps but unfortunatly when I tested the voltage is reverse from the renix system. Did you grabe the throttle cable from the newer jeep? I made the mistake of leaving it behind and of course i needed it as well which fuel rail are you using as well as which injectors? as this makes a running difference I found. The newer fuel pres regs are 49 psi and the older renix is 37-39psi I beleive (correct if wrong). I found it to create a rich cond. (which not so bad for me I'm working on turbo). P.S I am new to the forums been running my 89 for oh 6 years or so now it has all been home brew done (including lift, interior, exterior, as well as engine bay.)I also had an 88 but wreked it.
