swamprat replied to swamprat's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Well I found one I want to copy in the members journal here. But I can't find it anymore, it's a white lwb lifted 6 or so, with the historical drinking socity decal. -
rear bumpers.. how do i make them

thanks, i searched and must have missed that post -
so i found a straight and rust free bed for my manche. and I'm wondering how you folks have made your rear bumpers? i'm wanting to cut, tuck and wrap around the bumper. so i can have my lower exo slider-tube things tie into the rear. i just don't know how to make my mounts, it looks pretty cramped back there. thanks -ian edit: i found my inspiration for the rear sliders, but rather then round tube I'm thinking rectangle. viewtopic.php?f=7&t=5484&hilit=FUBAR

so the bed on my MJ is beat the hell. and i've been thinking about a flat bed or a hybrid cage/bed thing lately. i don't know what to do though, i am exo'ing the jeep one of these days and i want to tie all that in. i need ideas! i like this http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2481937 ... 9497YHlnfM but i still want some bed, which is where i sorta get lost. thoughts, ideas, input? thanks -Ian

research! the V8 swap is pretty expensive and labor intensive, might as well stroke and build up a 4.0.

so I'm alittle worried about my jeep now. this is my first renix, it has a "cooler air" intake on it. basically a cone filter on the stock tubes. now my friends say that its normal for a renix to leak from the intake. now I'm not sure about this. my first question is "is this normal?" and the second is "how do i fix it?" thanks -Ian

yup, just minding my own business one day gathering up the things i needed to lift my XJ. when some guy from NAXJA offers to trade me MAPMAN's old MJ for my almost stocker XJ. and so here i am, happy to be driving a lifted XJ/MJ again. i've missed the clacks and creaks of older jeeps.. i havent taken any pictures of the jeep since i got it 5 hours ago. but i can steal some of his pictures from photobucket! lol Image Not Found Image Not Found its basically the same now, but it does have a different set of fenders, and no front bumper. which is ok, cause i plan to convert to a 97+ front end and build tube bumpers front and rear. and getting a bench seat rather then buckets oh and btw, hello again. i like never post anymore, but i shall now! -Ian

just letting everyone know I'm still looking for a 5spd 4x4 swb MJ around the Georgia area.

I'm sorry but the preowned jeep store is a scam. there stuff is always way over priced

i've lost interest in my subaru, and i wanna go wheeling again. I'm located in Atlanta GA, but can drive a few hours out if needed. I'm looking for a almost rustless (non cancerous) 4x4 5spd MJ. has to run, drive, and be street legal. but really just a 5spd MJ, i can convert it if need be. I'm sorta broke right now, so i don't know my price range. but i do have a 1995 subaru impreza L and a 1997 Jeep Grand cherokee Orvis edition that i am more then willing to trade. here's the link for the subaru if your interested: http://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/cto/1640266877.html and i can tell you more about the Zj if your interested also. thanks -Ian

thanks guys, I'm really liking this manche! the only down side is the rust under the floor boards..but thats an easy fix

yup I'm new on this board, I'm also on NAXJA, Lone star jeep club, and Texoma off road club with the same handle. so yea I'm from texas, but i don't have an mj yet. if all goes well i'll end up with a very nice 88 long bed in a few days. i guess if you need some back story i drive, or well drove a 91 xj till i got creamed by an s-10 that decided she would turn into on coming traffic. her story of she had a green light didnt hold up long when every one started telling her that its not protected, well it doesnt matter now its done and over with. needless to say thats why I'm looking for a comanche.
