are your tires properly inflated? last time you changed oils? i average about 20-22 in my mj, the key is maintenance.
-
i had the plug to change over, i had the full HO harness it was just hacked to hell by the previous owner ghetto rigging it after the accident.
-
for future reference, HO tail light wiring: Black - ground Brown/Green - back up lights Blue/Red - running lights (parking) pink (salmon) - brake & right turn signal Green - brake & left turn signal Renix taillight wiring: Brown: Right turn and brake light Black: Ground Blue: Tail (parking) lights Brown with white tracer: Backup light Grey with black tracer: Left turn and brake light so renix to HO plug convertion would go as such: Black - black Brown/Green - brown/white Blue/Red - blue Pink - brown Green - grey/black
-
colors are different from renix to HO, looks like i need to do some more digging
-
as long as the color codes are the same between the years, i can swap them. i've already got the bed off and ready to install my straight one. and the donor wasnt factory trailer wiring. it was a really clean and good wiring job.
-
My truck is a 92 sport, the donor is a 89 Pioneer.
-
I bought a new harness for my comanche, and its different than my factory one. only thing I can think of is my jeep doesn't have factory trailer wiring and the harness does. Does anyone have a diagram of both harnesses so I could merge the two?
-
Its ok I found some $40 a set an hour away. Going to snag the other three sets next paycheck.
-
Cheapest I found on ebay was $250, for that I can almost buy another mj
-
after searching endlessly for a set of taillights, i have resorted for a nation wide search. i am in the market for a set of MJ tails, willing to ship. i'm just really tired of the S-10 lights that make bulbs go out almost weekly. -ian

ok little more update, i have a co worker with a 96 2wd xj he is scrapping, so i am getting all of the aw4 stuff out of it. pedals, harness tcu, cables, everything. a buddy of mine is giving me a 21 spline 242, and all i need to get now is a sye for that 242 and a custom driveshaft for my MJ. that should be everything i need for this swap.
-
So all the trans harness and stuff is completely seperate from the main harness, except for power?

How is the baja shifter on the road?
-
pretty much as the title says, I'm looking to make my 92 mj 4x4 on my college kids budget. mecanically eveything will bolt up fine, but I'm worried about what i'll need to add for the aw4 to operate. i found a good deal on a bajashifter from radesigns and from what i understand that should be enough to atleast get the truck moving again. but seeing as its currently my daily driver, atleast till i get my turbo swap done on my impreza. i don't want start swaping things with out knowing if it'll work right.

Problem solved... it was my parking light fuse
-
Hopefully I can actually get around to messing with it today
-
Nothing and my hvac isnt lite or cig lighter. I'm going to check the wiring behind the switch and really clean the fuses and make sure there connecting.
-
so i scored this nice 92 MJ, and on the drive home i notice my gauges arent backlit. figured it was a fuse, it was on my last XJ. went and replaced the fuse although it still looked good. its the middle of the day but it doesnt seem to have fixxed the problem. what else could it be? i've read that some YJ folks have the same problem but its the c101 connector, and i might be wrong but i thought HO jeeps didnt have that connector. everything else works, other then the dome lights but i think the bulbs are burnt out. but that shoudnt keep my gauge lights from coming on. -Ian

After replacing the distributor on my mj, my fuel pump went out. I replaced that, now it seems like I can't get any fuel to the motor. I have another fuel filter that is going on after it dries up out side. But I wonderin if there is a common problem with comanches after replacing the fuel pump? One of my friends keeps saying I need to prime the lines, I thought it was a bad connection that's keeping the pump from working. But the pump is humming so it must be working. Thanks -Ian

sexy! :D
-
how easy was the install? i got a set for free with the wires off a coworker.
-
bump! i've done my research, and I'm still lost....
-
So I have a set of rough country 4.5 xj leafs, and I was wondering if I could sub the main leaf from the rc pack into my mj pack. My mj main leaf is w shaped, i don't Know the length of the leaf, nor the length of the stock mj leaf. I figure the xj leaf might be the same size as the mj one
-
so in my garage i have an HO engine and trans out of a 92' XJ. which i want to put into my MJ in the near future, for this swap i just need the HO wiring loom and all the open cooling system goodies correct? i'm also swapping in a full cluster, i just assume that doing the cluster and engine while i have the jeep apart will make things easier. thanks! -Ian
