  1. I have no idea what is going on with my 2.5l. I'm looking into swaping in a 4.0l/ax15 combo. I want to keep it as close to a Jeep as possible. I plan on running 35's in the future. Are there any write ups on swaping? I tried to search but it wount let me search for "engine swap". I don't want to run a GM engine so please just give me some info on the 4.0l.
  2. When I shut it off it won't start unless I put starter fluid in it. May be gas lines have junk in them? Any kind of tune up for the fuel system? It is a 2.5l.
  3. I found one at advanced. Now it sounds like it idles to low. Would that be the Map sensor?
  4. I know that I can order online but i would like to have it today. Autozone has the CPS for 87+ cherokee. I was wondering if the part would fit.
  5. I have narrowed my problem down to the CPS sensor. The only problem is its an 86 2.5l. No auto parts stores carry it for this year. Will a cherokee with the same engine or 87+comanche work in my 86? Please help me out on this one.
  6. Were would I find that?
  7. Well last night I couldnt check any thing. It got too dark. Doesnt matter though, I went to go move the truck out of the driveway and it wouldnt start. It turned over but nothing else.
  8. Well it a 2.5 4 speed, all stock ride height. I havent checked the fluids....I probable should before posting. Ill check those when I get home tonight and let you guys now.
  9. Please help..... When I drive above 25-30mph, there is a noise that I don't know what it is. It sound like rubber on concreate at high speeds but it comes and goes, and when I take my foot off the gas it will stop for a minute. The tires are almost brand new. And I think they are the right size.....225's. Any help?
  10. Dude, Sweet build. Can you go a little more into detail about the dash swap? Looking to do one myself in the next month or 2.
  11. I know that this is a d35/d30 combo. I will end up swaping some day. As far as all the fabwork for the 4.0, would it be better to swap a different 6cyl? If so how hard would that be? How about the interior? Anybody have any news on that?
  12. Alright, Well I finaly got the wifes approval after selling my old Beetle to buy a 1986 Comanche 2.5l 4wd. Ive had alot of jeeps in the past but no 4 bangers. I do have acouple of questions about these jeeps though. First off my plans for this is its going to be a dual rig. Great for on and off road conditions. Now eventually I will be swaping the 2.5 and 4 speed for a 4.0L HO and an AX-15, but thats going to be down the road. A question that I had is that will the 2.5 hold up to 33-35in tires? Again this maybe for about a year until I swap. And the interior is a liitle ugly. I had seen on shelbyluvvs build up page that they swapped the interior for a 97+. Are there any more references for this? I think it looks sweet with a newer cherokee interior. Any info would help.
  13. Thanks alot. Buy the way.....Does anybody know if 97+ doors fit on a MJ? I know that they will fit on a 84-96 Cherokee, and I think 84-96 doors will fit on a MJ. Just a thought. here's the pics Image Not Found
  14. How do you add pics? It looks great. Just a little surface fusr inside the cab on the roof.
  15. Alright, I'm new to the comanche world but not to the jeep world. Ive had several cherokees in the past and loved them. I have the option of buying a 86 comanche long bed for $800. Its a 4cly, 4 speed, 4wd, and the body dosent any rust on it. Should I spend the money on this? I want to build it up in the futer with 6-7in lift, 35's, 4.0 HO and 5 speed swap, and dana 44 f/r. It runs and drives great, but the brakes are a little soft. Like i said, the cherokee in the past I have fixed up so I have the jeep knowlage, but I am not too familiar with the 2.5 4cyl. Or should I save my $$$$ for a "newer" comanche with the 6cyl and 5 speed in it already? Oh and to add to everthing, I do need a second vehical.
