POST YOUR WHEELING PICS NEW OR OLD
Comanchero87 replied to Comanchero87's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
I would trade the surf for some powder covered mountains right about now. One season gets boring after a couple years. -
Just like the title says. We all like to see the action shots, so post um up. here's a couple from a while back. Minor trail to get to the gold at the end of the rainbow. Actually the trail pics where taken on the way home from camping on the beach for three days. 2wheel drive stuff if you have an automatic. Next time Ill post some of the real trails. Image Not Found

Thanks and Jim sorry for questioning your character was not meant to be personal you just never know these days. Bring parts and beer money I got two couches and some rain forest wheeling spots with some alright views of Maui Lani and the famous Molokai North shore sea cliffs. Fishing and hunting spots at the end of every trail.

Buy a multimeter tester. You will need it. Check the harmonic balancer for separation, its two pieces and will separate. If your belt starts squealing check that first. Check to see if you have clutch fluid leaking on your Fuse box. Vacuum hoses are important and your truck will run bad if they leak or connected wrong. All the sensors in the truck should be tested. If one is bad you may not notice and replacing it could make a world of deference in gas mileage and preformance. Find the link to the sensor testing site and book mark it. Drive over bumbs at different speeds to see if you have death wobble..haha. But first check your bank account. Start using the search function on the site to become accustom to the problems before they happen. It will save you lots of money. I'm sure someone has a better list then me.

Jimoshel gauge cluster, wiring harness pieces, 02 sensor, knock sensor, coolant bottle. 70bucks shipped to Hawaii. Checks going out 2/23/12 Mahalo and Aloha fellas.

please help me with my comanche
Comanchero87 replied to 1BADMJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
If the EGR is gone won't the diaphragm not be able to move freely? Or am I mixing up the EGR with something else? -

:hijack: I have the same problem when she heats up she runs like a dog....popping and loss of power under load. I don't have the high idle problem. I have adjusted my TPS but did not clean the TB before hand though. If you fix your problem make sure to post the problem and solution if possible. I have burnt harness wires @ the knock sensor and o2 sensor so am going to replace these connections and sensors. Ive been told that the renix runs in a different mode when it heats up and all the sensors come into play in this mode. So if I fix my problem I will let you know. -

If the geny is going to be placed close to the water heater or boiler location you can incorporate a heat exchanger on to the exhaust side to pre heat hot water before it enters the WH or boiler.

o2 and knock sensor with a section from main engine harness.

My o2 sensor and knock sensor were damaged by the exhaust manifold. I need the sensors and a section cut from a engine harness upstream of the sensor connection harness. The damage is before the sensor connections. So I need about 10inches cut before the sensor connections so I can splice the connectors back into the undamaged part of the wiring harness. 87, 4.0, 5spd, 4x4....Thanks

87 MJ 4.0 5spd. Runs like a champ for the first 5 miles then as soon as it heats up under any load it starts ticking like an exhaust leak and loses alot of power. The oxygen sensor and knock sensor wires were melted and have been electrical taped. Does this sound like symptoms of bad sensor connections? any help is greatly appreciated.

The sounds coming from the rear I think, could be at tranny. It's really hard to tell for sure. Only happens when I'm accelerating kicks in at 5mph and lasts all the way through first gear until I push clutch or when I let off the gas without pressing clutch at low speed 2and gear. Noise gets louder and faster as speed increases. Like a card in a bike tire execpt more high pitch and metalic sounding. I'm thinking and hoping driveshaft u-joint? Just wanted to see if anyone has any ideas before I dive into and start throwing money at it. Thanks aloha.

Comanchero87 replied to Comanchero87's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Ya that's the stuff. How about the control arms. Mine will be used for work part time and hunting/fishing/mud/trail rig. -

My budget is about five hundred for the control arms and track bar anyone got any experiance or hear about the quality for the price? Thanks fellas aloha

Front end questions.
Comanchero87 replied to Comanchero87's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I'm not sure if it has the factory track bar bracket. That's why I threw the measurments at you guys. Ok this is a shorter version. I'm going to buy new control arms and track bar. I'm not going to pay to have it aligned before I put the new arms and bar because that would be a waste of money. I pretty much have the deathwobble diagnosed. Need to know how much lift. Has aftermarket fender flares and cut fenders so it's hard to tell how much it's lifted. It is soa rear. 11.75in from top of tube to bottom face of frame. The Iro say get the 3-7" arms if you have a 5" so I don't want to buy the 3-7" if I have a 4" lift. The track bar mount has been modified I need to know stock measurments to have a base line to work with. Please just throw some measurments back at me then I can start ordering things to fix the problem. Aloha. -
Front end questions.
Comanchero87 replied to Comanchero87's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Thanks for the reply. I'm planning on changing them. If it has a drop arm and I get a new bar and bracket I think I will have a problem with the pitman arm. What's the offset of the stock pitman? As for the control arms I'm not sure of the overall lift that's kinda what I need to know to get the right control arms correct or Are the adjustables made to adjust To accomidate different lift coils? -
The Parts Bin? Anyone buy from them?
Comanchero87 replied to Comanchero87's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Did you go with the 19dollar one? I need the same thing and needed cps but bought that from napa. Still need the o2 sensor and a knock sensor but cannot find it on the partsbin website. Want to order it all one time. -
Howsit fellas. Gonna throw some measurments at you guys to figure a couple things out. Would attach pics but cannot at this time. Anyway. I have death wobble. Hits around 45mph or about 35 on rough road. I've read up on it and know what to check. Needs new control arm bushings and track bar. The control arms are homemade jobs, the po said it had a 5in rancho lift. So I figure I will upgrade to some adjustables maybe rustys? The ones on it right now are 16.75 center to center on the upper and 17.75 on the lowers. The front end never felt right, got some coil bow on the passenger side, the sb disco's are so long they bang the inner fender it pops and clunks when you turn to much and drivers side tire rubs the lca. I am wondering if the po had a larger lift cause everything seems long. The track bar frame bracket has some "customification" to it and the frame mount nut is recessed into the bracket hard to explain. The face of the bracket is about 5 and 7/8s from the bottom face of the frame rail. Is this where it should be? Also the pitman arm measures 3.5in from outside face to outside face. Is this a drop arm? Also the lca frame mount also might have been a victim of the customification. It measures 2" from the face of the frame to the center of the bolt for the lca measured at the same angle as the frame. Not sure how much lift I have total the front and rear sit at 11.75" from top of tube to face of frame rail. How much you guys figure? Just trying to figure out how long the control arms need to be and the track bar I don't know if I should ditch the old frame mount bracket and buy a new one but will I then need a new bar and pitman arm? Hope someone has some info on my situation thanks. Aloha

Need to buy some parts for the mj. I live on a small island and all we have is napa. Two outta three times I need somthing they don't have in stock and usally order the wrong part. Was checking online for parts store and came across these guys. Pretty good website gives you choices between brand names! I can choose between a Bosch or replacment brand cps! Just wonderin if anyone had experiance ordering from these guys. If it's going to be a headache I can just order through napa but would rather be able to pick my preference and order what I know I need. Shootz let me know fellas aloha.
