Is there a difference between the long and short box tanks?

Need to replace the gas tank in my 88 MJ. Its a 4 wheel drive long box with the 6 cylinder inline engine. Any advice or specifics I should know? Thanks again.

Nice find!! I just got me one! Bought that one also, unfortunately the plug was different, didn't pay any attention until I was ready to plug the new one in. My factory one had a female plug, and the replacement one came with a male plug. Looks like a trip into the parts store......waste of time.

Just had a light on my dashboard light up, looked it up and it stated that I needed to change my Oxygen Sensor at 82,000 miles. Can anyone tell me where this is located? Is it something I can do myself? If so, how much and where can I buy one? Thank you very much for your help.

Noticed a bad oil drip on under my MJ, got to checking and realized all the valve cover bolts were very loose. Other than the obvious oil leak, what other issues will/did this cause. thank you for your information.

Ya, I was trying to figure out where the water would come from, any idea? It appears to be coming from the two small hoses (vacuum lines?) in the back of the air box. Any help would be appreciated.

Checked the air filter today in my 88 MJ and had water in it. It was on the edge nearest the fire wall, about an inch and a half of the filter. Its a 4.0 liter 6 cyl. Any advice? Any explanation? Thank you.

Where is the drip coming from? Can you see it drip off the engine, or are you just seeing it on the ground on the left side? If the CCV hole is plugged, the engine will push oil out the air inlet tube and it will drip out of the bottom of the air filter housing. Think you are right, my air filter is full of oil. Any idea how to fix this?

Thanks to the help from this forum, figured out where my oil leak is coming from. My air filter is full of oil and then the oil is dripping from the air filter housing. Now my question, based on what I'm being told, the CCV hole is plugged causing blow bye. How do you fix the plugged hole? Any more advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

Its dripping, but quite a bit, it seems to be running fine. Now I'm worried, when I hear "hole in the block"...

Just started leaking oil out of the left hand side of my engine (opposite side of the oil filter) Its an 88 with the the straight six engine. Its a bad leak, doesn't appear to be coming from the valve cover or oil pan. Any idea? Would really appreciate any help. Thank you.

Did something really dumb. Changed the rotor and cap today, must have got the wires on the wrong post on the cap. Thought I did it right, but, can't get it to start now. Does anyone have a picture that shows the correct way the wires go onto the cap and which cylinder they come from? Its for an 88 inline 6, 4.0 liter. Thank you very much.
