I had no prob. lifting my mj which had no or little rust but i did have to cut one bolt off cause the torx side rounded out on the front axle (drivers side upper controll arm)
-
wel on the web site for ox lockers the super 30 is coming in jan.06 thats last month at the local pick and save there isnt any axles for a tj/zj/yj there is some xj axles but its the same year as mine.

thanxs for your input. I was wondering what ather people have done. I checked with randys ring and pinion for prices and came up with $30 dollers to get rid of the diconect and $130 with the new axles with dana44 ujoints and $120 for the left side thats inner and outer axle shafts. Or $1,450 for the arb the compresser and alloy 30 splined axles shafts inner and outer and every thing to put it to gether the (super 30) or I can save about $200 for the super30 with OX locker. mabe june or july I can get it ill post pics of the install

You know I bought my mj about three years ago. I didnt think any thing of it just another truck right well wrong. I tried to sell it three times and every time I came close to selling it I backed down I just can't seem to get rid of it I like it to much. :D  So i got to thinking and I found out something , something big and it is (PETERMONTIE WAS RIGHT, THE MJ IS ADDICTING) http://community.webshots.com/user/comanchejeep

Ive got the dana 30 in the front with the vacumm disconect. I want to get rid of the disconect. I know I could get the kit for it but can't I use some none disconect axle shafts and just remove the vacumm disconect and plug off the hole. If not tell me why. (I need to change axle seals cause the right tube has a leak so i thought I would fix two birds with one stone.) http://community.webshots.com/user/comanchejeep

Lets see if this all adds up
mr4x4 replied to Drahcir495's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
i think its .5 in. i picked up my spring perch from 4wheel parts for $20 and my shocks from napa auto parts my brake lines are from rubicon along with my front coils my steering is from rustys over knuckle kit and my control arms and shocks in the front are rock krawlers tri link long arm kit my spring perch is .5 in (not 1.5 sorry typo ) antiwrap some people only go 5in. in the front for when they load up there gear they even out with my steering and lift i have about 1300 to 1400 in to it rubicons mj spring over lift is about 1200 http://community.webshots.com/user/comanchejeep -

mr4x4 replied to Drahcir495's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
its 5.5in. of lift rubicon express insisted thats it was 5.5 in. so i went with it since they make a spoa lift for the mj they were right try adding your new spring perch when i added my srings came to 1.5in. the axel is 3in. and the spring perch is 1.5in. the back of the truck sits a little higher for carring stuff giving you 5.5 inches high thats why if you look up a 2in. lift for a 1993 f150 its all up front and some companys call it a leveling lift now i could be wrong it might be 1in. higher in the back of the comanche -
does the blower work with vent or ac? to pull the climant controls out take the four screws theirs two electrical connectors unplug them. then theresa locking tab you need to bend back to un hook the vacuum connector. then release the control cable loking tab that should pull the hole unit out sounds like you need a new climate control unit the blower switch might be going out if you need to remove the radio and take a look at it from above mine started to do the same thing a year ago i replaced it and now its works good (check the blower moter for loose conections along with the climate control assembly itself)

I'm looking at tom woods for they are a little stronger than stock i figure every time i break up grade or buy new besides if i rebuild the motor ill have a rust free totaly rebuilt comanche
-
i need the front drive shaft the stock one is fine but my front cv joint broke 7 to 8 months ago witch put a hole in my tranny causing me to find a new one in. also a new transfer shift link found a nice one from novak adapters. and tore some lines off my frame rail. but thats why i need the front drive shaft. and to think I was only doing 10 mph. pics of some of the damage. http://community.webshots.com/user/comanchejeep

that paint looks good in the pics but i can see in one of the pics the shine isnt all that good the light doesnt shimmer off the surface to well BUT ITS ABOUT TIME THEY PUT A COMANCHE IN THE MAG
-
that hose is to aid the warm up in cold weather yes they do make an ax15 for two wheel drive i woul change the valve cover gasket first the if it still leaks then the rear main and thier not hard to change
-
spending the coin on a sye is worth it for what happens if you break something and have to drive out in front wheel drive but if you want to save some cash for right now you can get away without check uot rubicon express they have a longer slip yoke for somthing like 80$ tom woods told me 800$ for my sye and front and rear drive shafts for just the sye and rear drive shaft was somthing like 5 or 600$
-
youll be fine with the dana 30 for a while but after a while you will want to put up grades in all though i know a lot of people that grear it lock it and hardly break. put some 456 gears in it leave it open you should be fine with some fender trimming and an 8in. lift you can get 35s no prob. don't worry about the tranny cross member put a sye kit in it that will cure your drive line angles and drive line vibration. after you lift and fix your steering for death wobble, gears, lockers, sye kit tires and so forth then start with axle up grades just takes money
-
i whent down to 4wheel parts and bought my mounts for 20$ their 2in. wide anti wrap perches some new u bolts and i fliped my shock mount to the top(you have to switch sides as well) then you don't have to knotch them out for the axle and you can use stock size shocks for a cherokee as long as there eye to eye
-
you will like it just make sure your welds are good. I bolted my control arms in place wich uses your tranny cross member bolts then took it to a freind that happens to weld for a living.

roadless i live in pahrump 50 miles west of vegas. in the webshots i was running 33s with a 5 1/2 in. lift the front flexes so much i kept hitting the fenders even with the trimming so i thought i needed to go bigger and put 35s on her
-
luv the tri link set up ive had it for two years without a prob. The ride is nice on and of highway and with the rustys over knuckle steering i have no bump steer. Those control arms have been scraped and smacked on the rocks with out a flaw. The same time i did my lift two friends did theirs one of them is running rubicon and the other has a 2600$ skyjacker. Both of them have had to replace things the rubicon was a control arm joint and on the skyjacker it was the cradle.
