i found what he told me when i asked about it on ebay.....here's what he told me...
Let's be real clear on this point. This is not concept truck, or a pilot. It was a test truck, that actually went down the assembly line to test the fit of components prior to the actual year of production. Then it was used to test the durability of those existing components in the next year of its life. Then it was retired from service and then sold. This is what I was told by the Department Manager at Jeep Corp when I picked it up in Detroit at Chrysler Headquarters in 1988. I have a copy of the original bill of sale to the company who origanlly recieved it from Jeep Corp. I worked for those people 1988 to 1989 and subsequently bought the Comanche from them in about 1990. Believe what you want. This Jeep Comanche has a unique history. That is how I am advertising it.
