For what they call Tuff Truck Racing around here. Timed dirt courses with jumps. The owner/driver posts on our local boards and when he first bought the MJ I told him about this site. He just posted these pictures on our site so I though I would share them. He gets 6 to 8 foot airs in the Cherokee's!

Love my 03 Rubi! From what I have heard, the 5 speed manual is a stronger, longer lasting tranny. The 6 speed is nice but does not last as long. If he is buying it from the 1st owner and it has less than 70,000 miles on it he can still transfer the factory warranty. The power train warranty is 7 years or 70,000 miles and covers the engine, transmission, suspension, axles and lockers. I wasted my front axle both inners and outers plus bent the tube. Got a quote for almost 3 grand to fix. Reminded them that I still had the factory warranty and it only cost me the 100 dollar deductable!

Got mine! 2 days exactly. Hey DansGreyMj, how were you able to score all black ones. I called several times before I bought the gray and black ones and each time the informed me that only the gray ones were on sale and if I wanted all black they would be 400 plus dollors each! Did you get them both for the $179.99?

Every time I have seen an H2 or H3 on the trail it is broken. Granted I don't see very many of them on the trail but those I have did not make it through the day. These were on Greens, Blues and Blacks at Rausch Creek, Paragon and GWNF. Never see one on any Reds. If I could afford one I would own an H1 though!

That site must have linked the wrong pic cause that's not the CJ-4. That is either a CJ-3B Long or a modified CJ-3B. I have seen pics of the CJ-4 on other sites also and this it what I have always been shown. I remember one of the other sites mentioned that it was used to plow snow at the factory. This is the "missing link" between the CJ-3A/3B and the CJ-5. Only one unit was built in 1950, and it was one of the first prototype Jeeps to carry the new Willys "Hurricane" F-head engine. It combined the rear of a CJ-3A, the hood that would be seen on the MD model, and a unique grille and skirted fenders on an 81-inch wheelbase. Mechanically, it was pretty standard Jeep. Carrying the engineering code X-151, the rig was sold to a Willys employee in 1955 who worked it for 12 years. It then remained in storage for 25 years, before recently being sold again. http://www.film.queensu.ca/CJ3B/Poster/CJ4.html

I believe there was only 1 CJ-4 built!

Willys CJ-V35/U One thousand units were built by Willys between March and June 1950. Only 29 are known to survive.

Have been checking out the site for awhile now and am very impressed with it. Here is my 89 MJ 4.0 AUTO 4WD LWB PIONEER. It is in very good shape. The previous owner replaced both floor boards when they started to go bad and touched up the fading paint. She runs a little rough but will cruise at 70 with no problems. I only use it to go to the dump and pickup supplies. Here is my 98 TJ Sahara - the beach Jeep. I have it tagged to run on the Delaware Beaches and Assateague Island which is located in MD. Good surf fishing! Here is my 03 TJ RUBICON - the Trail Rig. It goes just about anywhere I point it! My local club in Salisbury, Maryland is the Eastern Shore Jeep Association. http://www.easternshorejeep.com We have 68 acres that we lease and cut trails on! We also hold and Annual Jeeps on the Shore Show in Pocomoke, MD at the Pocomoke Fair Grounds. http://www.jeepsontheshore.com Last year they let us build an obstical course in the middle of the horse track. I was put in charge of building it. Turned out pretty good, you can see pics and vids on the web site! Thanks for having a great MJ site with alot of very good people. I don't think I have seen any bashing at all on this site which plagues many other sites.

Can I put an 2003 TJ 4.0 into my 1989 MJ?
JL replied to JL's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The tapping is not loud and does not happen all of the time. The start up is the worst problem to me and the oil leaks. -
Can I put an 2003 TJ 4.0 into my 1989 MJ?
JL replied to JL's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Had a couple of people tell me it was a 4.2 not a 4.0. It is the origianl engine so it must be the 4.0. I bought the truck from 1st owner. It has 147,000 miles on it, does not smoke at all, has a hesitation when starting and runs rough at start up but then idels fine with a slight taping every 10 to 15 minutes. Cursies at 70 mph and has plenty of power when you hit the gas. It's when it sits that the tapping starts. It does leak oil also. Firgured it would be good to replace it when I got the chance. It is an auto and has a power and comfort switch on the dash. I'm guessing it is the same as a an overdrive. So it can be done but a lot of rewiring will need to take place. I guess it would probly be easier and cheaper to look for a good enigne from 86 thru 89 and just swap it. Thanks for the help -
I can get a 2003 TJ 4.0 with everything under the hood, wiring, computer, etc. Will this work in my 1989 MJ with a 4.2? Will the transmission mount right to it? What else would I need to get? Is it worth it or would it be better to just replace with an XJ motor? The TJ motor runs great only has 36,000 miles on it and will only cost me $600.00. I can find 86 thru 89 4.2 motors with less than 100k for the same and less. Thanks in advance for any help!
