possum
Any ideas on how to bust a froze caliper loose. It's on the driver's side. Just want to break it loose so I can drive around the yard a bit until I can afford to replace it.
Pete M
Lots of PB blaster or other penetrating spray and lots of patience. Then go to town with a C-clamp. A new caliper is like $16 after you turn in yours for the core charge.
possum
Thanks Pete I'll give'er a try. Yeah calipers are cheap, but when you stack rotors and pads on top of it the cost goes up a bit. I didn't know my caliper was seized until I drove the truck to the Mounds. Drove in the front gate and into the first play area. Drove into a big puddle of water and saw steam rise from the driver's side. Result= 1 badly warped rotor. And I always like to do brakes and junk like that in pairs.
