87ComancheLB
Thought I read here that the 4.0 uses the AX-15, AX-5 was for the smaller engines? I would like to eventually upgrade to the AX-15 and a Dana44 but still keep it 2wd, would like to go 4x4 but hell the way gas prices are going. Right now has a BA-10, dana35 with 3.07 but enjoy the 20+ MPG freeway miles.

That's correct, but the way the guy wrote it is, it's an AX, Five speed transmission. If you look at the bellhousing, it's an AX-15. He really should have specified what motor it was behind though. I would call and double check it was behind a 4.0, they look so damn similar in the later years and the pic isn't the best.
jtdesigns
Just got home and gave dude a call it is from a 4.0 going to pick it up this weekend.. woot woot.... quick one,,,, He said the slave line was cut.. and it is the one piece deal,, so will I have to get another slave?? It was external though..
Geonovast
There should be a threaded fitting on the slave for the line. The problem you will run into, however, is that your current internal goes into a hole on the top of the bellhousing, whereas the external AX-15 slave is on the bottomish passenger side, so you'll need to get a longer hardline. Since yours is an 89, there should be a hardline coming off the master, then a softline, then a hardline to the slave.
