If your have a '88, 4.0, manual transmission, the ECM would be a #5300 5407. The Number will be in very bold print on the unit. You didn't say what engine you have :dunno: And I don't have any 2.5 ECM. The only difference on the ECM's is the 2.5 or 4.0, Manual or Automatic, and of course - '87-88 and '89-90. dakal
i have a 4.0 ok, where is the computer located? behind the glove box?
Wildman
Then you would need the #5300 5407 ECM. The ECM is mounted behind the dash, just above the gas pedal, to the right, like behind the heater controls, you can pull it out, by removing a screw and slide it down, to un-hook the connector, with out removing the dash. It will be the big silver colored box, about 6' x 8' x 1". Drop me a PM with your shipping info, and a fair offer......and I'll ship one out to you ;)
dakal
ok ok, computer # in bold print # ef8953005226 in small number in corner of the box 8736 made in france the computer was bolted on with three 8mm bolts i took off two of them to get the number, the top bolt is a pita to get too, but if necessary i can remove it to drop the computer down. engine # 903 mx 27 what year is engine? its in a 1988 comanche, but i have found some strange things on this vehicle so-------- :brows: :chillin:
Wildman
:hmm: I searched '81-'93, 5k pages and could not come up with that number :dunno: What your saying is, you have a 5300 5226 microprocessor and what my parts list calls for is a 5300 5407 for a '88 w/manual transmission. The only thing I can think of, is to go thru the pile of ECM in the shop, and see if that number shows up......I got all the #'s to take with me. but i have found some strange things on this vehicle so-------- Yea.......I think so :???: made in france Yea.......they all are = Renix ;) If the 3 screws were still in the bracket, then it could be factory installed?? I guest the next question is........what's wrong with your ECM now??? Footnote: I cross checked a couple supply houses, came up with this- Cardon # 792858 Picture here Niefoff # 5300 5429 Standard # 5300 5429

Wildman
I did find one :D Looked thru about 10, and the last one.......Here a picture of it, but I didn't take a picture of the connector  so......either my parts list is wrong......or I'm going  And when I removed this, I wrote '88, 4.0, BA10 on the ECM. So, what ever you want to do, drop me a PM and we'll take it from there.
