135Boom Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 I saw this thing on myth busters that showed that running the stock tail gate in the up position gave the best gas mileage possible in reality. Not sure if it applies to every single truck, but I thought it was interesting.

Not sure if it applies to every single truck, but I thought it was interesting. They also later tested with the tailgate removed, with a bed cap on, and with a mesh tailgate. The mesh was the best for fuel economy by 5%. http://kwc.org/mythbusters/2006/12/episode_64_more_myths_revisite.html
135Boom Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 AHHH....guess I missed that. I just watched the initial test and it was interesting WHY they were finding it was good to keep the tail gate up.
