Jeep Down! Clutch Problems

I can't get it to shift gears, it will only grind going into reverse, but 1 through 4 i can't even get it to grind. i have checked the fluid and it was between the min and max so i went ahead and filled it full and the helped a little bit but only for a while. Also the pedal is EXTREMELY sloppy, it acts like it has no fluid when it does.

Is it an external slave? Did the fluid get low enough to get some air in the lines? Try bleeding it.

Sounds like the slave died.

 

Being an 86, it should be external. Try bleeding it. You have to remove the slave, then completely compress it in order to bleed it properly.

 

Try not to grind it up too much.
