Out with the 2.8 in with the 2.5

Ok i need info on the electrical i want to make the 2.5 a stand alone, i have all my plugs for fuel and the ECM but here is where I'm lost, getting power to the ECM so every thing will work i can't find a diagram to show whats hot and whats not any help would be nice.

I would swap the whole harness from a Renix TBI rig as the computer has to go under the dash (it's not waterproof like '91 and up)

I have the renix system, but i need it to be a stand alone and i can't swap the whole harness i can't have my truck down more then 2 days its my dd, as far as dash dummy lights and guages i have aftermarket stuff i just need the basics to run the 2.5 nothing els.

It's all in the harness that goes through the firewall and the computer mounts above the gas pedal. It plugs into the main harness the same as the 2.8 V6 does afaik.

yeah, you can't do what you're thinking, the harnesses are completely different.

 

extensive wiring would be needed to make it standalone, and it really is not gonna take that much more work to yank the dash and swap the harness. (I yanked my dash, and reinstalled my new dash, in less than 2 hours...with a bunch of fiddling around on prep work and such in between

I just got rid of my underhood 2.5 harness from my 88 last week but I will the underdash portion out in the next couple weeks. If your interested let me know.
