I'm trying to do this methodically🤔

Recommended Posts

Anyone give insite on what any of these wires go to I know the pictures are not great and will post more later today. I understand people ask some of the same questions and the info is out there. But please bare with me for I'm always working and what time I do have I am trying to methodically do Cruise54r's Jeep list. I'm decently mechanically inclined but not with electrical. When it comes to electrical stuff I'm a color coded kinda guy but even this is way to many different colors and wires have two colors on them..........IF POSSIBLE if someone could point me in the direction of detailed pictures of the wires...I'm kinda iffy on tugen wires to sort them and I pull or twist something that ruins my Jeep being it's my daily driver. Thanks for reading thanks for any help

I know you're looking for information on these wires and you're not an electrically inclined kind of guy, but the honest truth is that it's incredibly difficult to use pictures to sort out wiring issues. That is why we always refer to electrical schematics and diagrams. A picture can only detail so much information. For example it's impossible to show, even in a few pictures, how the headlight's 12V cable gets it power from the battery. In between there are fuses, switches etc. it can't capture enough detail to explain each part of the circuit and how they connect.

But, which mods from Cruiser's list are you trying to do? What problems are you trying to solve right now? There are a lot of people on here who can chime in and point you in the right direction. You're going to have to be more specific so we can help.

Need specs on what we are looking at. Year and model type of specs. Some wires you find are not connected at all, some are for radio harness, some are for dash switches you may not even have, options 😉. Most important wires are the 7 connected to bottom of steering column. Other important ones go to headlight switch. Haynes manual gives you a basic wiring sycmatics to get you started. FSM can be downloaded from the do it yourself section in a sticky link on top,

So look for that.

I have found it a pita when it comes to the wiring, over several years and many tinkering nights I have been just cutting the wires out as I have found I don't need them. Not recommended for most, I'm just simple and my truck just works when it wants too. Like me.
