Quick ECU Question

I have a 1988 MJ.

 

Wanting to upgrade the ECU, I purchased an ECU # EF8953005428 to swap out for my old one.

 

Just got the existing one out of my MJ and now I'm wondering if it might be from a newer-than-88 MJ.  Wondering if anyone on here can confirm?

Numbers from the existing one: 53007842 and S101155201A; also has a white sticker on the corner saying "9012".  Picture of existing ECU attached.

That one according to the parts catalog is a superseded number from an 87-88 ECU which in turn fits all years from 87-90.
