Britt
For years I have been looking for a not to radical custom hood for my 2001 hand made Comanche Crew truck to help with getting trapped heat away from the stock 4.0 engine and to look great doing it! Not much available for the XJ/MJ due to age of the vehicle so that left home- made custom fabrication to get the end result Found a 68/69 Chevelle SS hood in bad shape around the edges but solid in the middle. Cut out the middle of the SS hood and the XJ/MJ hood and fitted the SS hood carefully into the XJ/MJ framework. Used a vice grip offset tool to make a continuous step to weld the SS hood in solid, than took some time and carefully completed the body work and hardened enamel factory white paint. Fits like a charm, looks great (bout 1- 1/4" above stock XJ/MJ hood height) and holding your hand over the SS chrome vents quickly proves that trapped heat under the hood has an effective way of getting out!
