Going to look at a 2wd 2.5l manual commanche! What to look for?

Hi All!

 

first post here, looking to join the club and going to check out a commanche in my area.

 

it’s a 2.5l manual tranny 2wd.

 

any suggestions of what I should look for, check, and double check? 
 

it’s in great cosmetic shape, cerakoted, no rust, clearly taken care of cosmetically. Has a little oil on the oil pan that seems to be coming from above and the seller claims the following:

2.5L motor - runs good, idles a little rich

Straight piped with magnaflow muffler

5 speed manual

2wd

4 new 32x11.50 on 15 tires

Drivers side window regulator is shot needs to be replaced.

”

 

let me know what wisdom all of you can share! Looking forward to joining the club and already thinking of a 4wd swap! Haha. Too soon?

I would check the type of lift installed to clear tires that won't fit stock.

all the usual "used car" things apply.  does it drive right?  does it idle right and not overheat?  is there moisture (or worse) under the carpets?  did they change the gears in the axles to accommodate those huge tires?
