wilto
Hey y'all, Going to do a smog test in CA (Mariposa county) tomorrow for the 1987 Comanche I just bought. It had the CA emissions purge tank installed at the time. Unfortunately, it has not been registered since 2003. Here is the purge tank. The hoses were completely rotted out. Unfortunately the universal hosing I bought does not fit because for some reason the endings for each individual hose are sized differently?! One of the hoses is roughly 8" long with the tank side at 10mm and airbox line at 15mm. The other one is roughly 28" long with the tank side at 10mm as well and the fuel return at 5mm. Maybe I can just buy hoses big enough to fit the bigger side and clamp the heck out of them on the smaller line? What type of hose should I use? I can't find any specific parts replacement online. Thanks. Purge tank (aka Charcoal Canister):
eaglescout526
Heh. Welcome to hell for that. For whatever reason AMC and their infinite wisdom had a hose made specially for that. One end is a small hole and the other is large and that’s a special hose too. Replacing it is gonna be very tricky unless you can find the right hose and modify one of the ends for the larger diameter.
