1987 MJ Steering wheel cover removal question

Recommended Posts

I need to replace the ignition cylinder on the '87 MJ.  I can't figure out how to remove the steering wheel cover so I can get at the nut.   If anyone has the removal procedure I'd appreciate the advice.  Photo shows the wheel I'm dealing with.  I may get the metal spoke type instead of this one, but first I need to get the cylinder out since the ears are missing and were broken off.  It's very hard to turn the key without the ears.  Thank you.

No screws there!  But there may have been because there are holes and bosses underneath.  I can lift the cover and see that there is nothing on the arms that are holding it on.  It seems to only be held by something at the center hub location under that contact foam plate you see in the middle.  And I can't figure out how to remove that gizmo and I don't want to bugger that up.
