Recommended Posts

So after purchasing my mj and everyone talking about checking the floors, I sure did that and i was pleased on what I saw, I changed the carpet while add por-15 and sound proofing and adding another layer of proofing and a layer to keep the heat out and out here in Texas, I can get inside my mj and its cooler than the outside temp while not being as noisy as it once was! Its a 89 Mj Pioneer 2wd short bed

Nice!

Those floors are amazingly pristine. The small amount of rust I can see in the passenger side footwell would have me checking the blower motor/ air box gasket. That could be the source of that leak. Or the drain tube for your AC system. Its worth looking into just to try and keep as much water as possible out, to keep those floors as nice as they are.

Good work!

yeah, don't rest until you've found the source of the water :L:

water can pool up on the engine bay side of the firewall at the circled location.  if you drill a small hole going from the engine bay out the wheel well, that will allow water to drain out rather than pool up and defeat the blower motor seal.

the HVAC gasket is another known culprit, as well as the windshield seal.  don't forget to replace your hood seal, as that's your first line of defense against rain pouring into the engine bay.
