Swampy
I removed the HVAC box from my mj and I have to install one from a cherokee. The problem I am having is that 2 of the 5 studs didnt come out they just like broke the plastic mounting on the box itself and didnt come off the firewall. Is there any tips or tricks to prevent this when removing the cherokee hvac unit?
eaglescout526
Well the easiest way I have for this is: One, vice clamps to hold the thread while you loosen the nut or Two if you aren't removing the nuts to clean them up is to just remove the screws from your XJ box in the corresponding areas where the stuck screws are and just screw them into the airbox. That might work. I didnt think of the xj box like that.
eaglescout526
Ought to be quick and easy work without trying to fight and remove those screws and risking damage to the nut/screw/firewall.
