Dammerung
Bought an AC Delco alternator from Rock Auto about a month or two ago. My belt and pulleys squeaked before this and still squeaked after. I didn’t know that the alternator was squeaky, as the idler pulley also had a horrible squeak. I replaced the idler and found out that the alternator was squeaking. Is there a way to stop the squeak? Or can I talk to rock auto to get a replacement? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Pete M
as a temporary solution (sometimes), you can touch the smooth side with a bar of soap while it's running. did this to my minivan for a couple years straight. finding what's squeaking and replacing that item is generally a better choice. I solved the problem (temporarily at least)! I just tightened the belt more. Without tension on the alternator, it squeaks just from me spinning it, but now it’s fine. Hope it doesn’t come back to bite me later though.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
