89MJComanche Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 1995 XJ stalled out while driving on interstate. It would not restart. I pulled fuel line, excellent pressure. It still would not start. I did not have a screw driver. I had it towed home. Pulled dist, found rotor melted like a burnt piece of popcorn, and the metal contact in laying on the distributor. WTF happened???
Renegade Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 Get your battery checked. Might have spiked & caused a meltdown, but if it still cranks it's probably not that. More likely your voltage regulator failed & shot too much juice to the rotor.
