Treep
Hello there! I have a wiring question. I’ll try to provide as much info as possible initially, so let’s get to it. Truck #1: 1988 Comanche. 4.0 non A/C. AW4/231 Truck #2: 1988 Comanche. 2.5 non A/C. AX5/231 I am about to transplant the entire drivetrain from truck #1 to #2. I have already removed motor/trans/tcase from #2. I have removed C101 connector and associated wiring going forward. QUESTION: Will I need to transplant the portion of the C101 connector that mounts to the firewall and feeds the relay center, ignition coil, etc? Or only the “male” portion that feeds throttle body sensors, battery, etc? QUESTION: Will I need to transplant the engine bay side of the fuse block wiring harness as well, or can I retain the one already in truck #2? I am asking now because everything is easily accessible while there is nothing in the engine bay. QUESTION: I’ll be removing the TCU from the AW4 donor, will I find the necessary connecting points in the factory harness in truck #2? QUESTION: I notice the under hood relay panel is slightly different between the two trucks. Truck #1 has three relays and truck #2 has two. What should I make of this, and what is your recommendation? These are my pending questions, as of right now. I thank you in advance for your response. All the best. Ωhm
The 2.5L uses 5 fusible links, while the 4.0L uses 7. Not sure how one would 'work around' that. 88 Electrical Manual
