Rich947
Ill start by saying, I'm not good at keeping things updated. However Ill do my best. My son and I were looking for the perfect Jeep to build for his first vehicle. XJ, YJ, CJ, WJ, TJ, just what to build. This little MJ fell into our laps. His grandma had it. How I never knew about it, I'm not sure. Any way. He worked and saved his money to pay his half. The good and the bad, Its a rust free 4.0l 5 speed but its 2wd. So we put together a plan. XJ front HP D30 (4.10) with JCR truss and solid diff cover, Iron man sway bar mounts NV3500 (external slave) and NP231 with a IRO hack and tap, Azzy's design t-case linkage Rear 8.8 from an explorer (4.10) Solid diff cover Barns 4x4 8.8 brackets Rusty's 3 inch lift with 1" front spacer SOA rear, IRO lower control arms 33x12.5r15 Falken Wild peak MT Bushwacker cut out front flares JCR DIY front winch bumper, My hand me down winch. Flip up licence plate mount Hooligan of road front cross member plate. Iron man steering gear box spacer 98 grill swap I bought a parts rig to harvest some parts from (front 4.10 gears, t-case shifter, odds and ends) So the MJ has the front axle installed and front lift working on rear SOA,

WahooSteeler
Awesome build, keep us posted. I am doing the same with my MJ for my son, but it's a verrry slow process between my lack of skills or tools for the more involved stuff and the time to work on it. Stripped the interior to replace the floor plans and then had to work through some overheating and no-start issues. Meanwhile with no seat belts it's become my DD and he's driving my car! Rich947
So it is tranny swap time. Pulled the junk 2wd ba5 out, cleaned up under cab and undercoated. preped Nv3500 for install. Swapped out clutch, flywheel and pilot bearing. If any one needs 2wd BA5 trans this one is nice. only 69k miles.
