bobweiser
Can someone help me understand this mess of brake lines for the rear brakes? Why is there 2 lines, feed and return? One of these is leaking on me, if it is the return, can I just pinch it off for now? Am I better off ridding myself of the height prop valve mess? Rokhound
There is 2 lines because one of them goes to that load valve. You can plug of one of the ports on the pop valve under the hood or better yet get a XJ pop valve it will only have 4 ports where the one the MJ has 5. There is a thread on this that I started I will see if I can find it. if you search under brakes there is a lot of info on this just for your FYI here are two links that i think will help http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/view ... 62&start=0 http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/view ... t=brake%2A
JeepcoMJ
hmm. After looking these over, i now realize why my brakes feel soft. the PO before the PO I got it from had brake work done. new lines put in and the prop valve was bypassed. except the line from the valve was just looped into the line feeding into the rear axle. so now I think I have an issue where it feeds fluid back to the front when I step on brakes? does that sound correct? dakal
you can get rid of the proportioning valve if your using 33in tires or above. especially if you have put dana 44 on. get rid of the third line an join the lines with a union.. also, you will need to change the bottom line nut to a 3/8th. works great. :D
