Have an 86 jeep comanche having trouble finding a hood latch

 

Is there one that fits this?

Yet another 86-specific problem.

 

My old ‘86 is still in the local salvage yard. I can grab one for you if necessary.

'84 through '86 Cherokee.

 

Which part do you need, the hood side or the body side? I have an '86 XJ hulk in the back yard. Let me know exactly what you need and I'll see if it's still there.

The body side please! We have been trying to get one but the only ones that pop up are 87 and up, everything is getting hard to get

i think this one on ebay looks right, if nobody else has it. but like everybody said it is a early XJ/MJ problem

Thats not what I'm looking for, its the the latch that holds the hood down it connects to the hood wire you can pull from the inside. But thank you though

Check this link out. It's the correct part number for your 86 latch, #2 in the below diagram.

Because if I'm going to pull parts off the hulk in the back yard, it helps to know which part is needed, and I can't see the part numbers when the parts are on a wreck.
