schardein
Scored a 91 clock recently. Was excited until I got home and tested it. When power is applied to the "lights on" wire, the display blanks out completely. It should just dim down. Maybe someone has seen this problem before and knows how to fix it? Or, just cut that wire and the display will remain "normal" (bright) when the headlights are on. Display is bright green. $20 plus shipping? HOrnbrod
Was the clock plugged into your dash harness connector when you had the display problem, or just bench test it? It needs all the connector inputs including the dash dimmer input for the display to work properly.
schardein
Thanks Don! You are correct. Put 12v on the dash dimmer circuit and the dimming function worked as it should. Odd thing is, I have another clock, looks the same, same part number, and the "lights on dimming" function works without power on the dash dimmer circuit Guess I should have posted in the tech section first. HOrnbrod
I have three of them and they all require the dimmer input to work. Weird..
