tarmac2dirt Posted May 30, 2018 Share Posted May 30, 2018 Have a question about removing the metal trim pieces surrounding the door widows. This is the metal trim that is painted black. I have to trim it for the later xj mirrors and also want to refinish the coating on them. I searched and found a member trimming the but can't find how it is removed (without damaging). Dzimm Posted May 30, 2018 Share Posted May 30, 2018 They are just 2 pieces, the bottom strip and then the top one goes all the way up and around the window. To remove, start with the bottom one, just pull up on it in one corner and it should start to move. You may need to use a flathead screwdriver set perpendicular to the metal lip and bump the handle with your hand to get it broke loose. Once it starts to move, it will come right off.
