Flatbedmache
Picked up an 88 comanche after rolling my xj. So gutted it and now I’m starting the rebuild. Started pulling the carpets to see what kind of work I have in store and it wasn’t as bad as I expected but definitely have some work going to be swapping over the leathers from a wj that I had in my xj to get rid of the bench seat. Switching the rad to an open system. Putting in a dual diaphragm brake booster. Swapping an ax15 for the Peugeot crap. Putting on some long arms and redoing the wood in the back of the deck. The list is really too long and it never really finishes anyway.
Tuzmaster
You can swap in wj seats onto an mj? What all needs to be done? Are they gonna be mechanical or electrical?Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk

Flatbedmache
I swapped seat brackets and took the motors off when I had them in my 2 door xj. Just need to mount the rails to the Mj brackets. Not too hard of a job. Wouldn’t be that hard to make them power but I don’t feel like doing that much wiring
Flatbedmache
Getting the upper unibody rail supports off is a big whore of a job
Flatbedmache
Got my new floor pans. Didn’t take a pic of the drivers side but it’s a 2 piece. Need to buy some 2x6 steel for the rockers and some sheet metal to fab up the cab corners and interior front rockers. Then more cutting out of all the bad stuff. Flatbedmache
Started putting in the rockers today. Got the drivers mounted up. Need a few random things before we finish off and move to the passenger side.
Flatbedmache
Por15’d the inside of the frame rails today. Hopefully getting the passenger side 2x6 rocker on tomorrow
Flatbedmache
Dropped the gas tank. Going to replace with a fuel cell mounted on the deck. Got all the loots rust and dirt off the frame rails and as much and debris from the inside as I could. Going to prep and paint the rear frame rails in por15 and finally be done looking at any rust. Flatbedmache
Been a while since I’ve realky progressed on the manche. Finally decided on what I’m doing though. The more I took it apart the less I wanted to put it back together the same way. So I bought a 97 xj and I’m doing the whole swap. Stripped the entire wiring harness dash steering firewall and everything else I could use. I’m living with boxes of Jeep parts in my living room haha. Back to the manche, I decided to add 2x6 braces in the middle of the rocker panels for support as I’m not putting the cover support over the frame rail and floor again. Floors are almost all cut and just have to get around to welding them in and then modifying the firewall slightly to get the 97 dash in. Maybe before it snows. Maybe. (Don’t laughs at the welding on the passenger side. Was my first time and wasn’t using gas
