88whitemanche
What's up everyone I picked up a wood grain cover for the dash from a Cherokee but I wanted to ask since the current one has the switch panel molded to the cover compared to the one I picked up from the Cherokee what have you guys done to fix this? I picked up a switch panel from the Cherokee but my dash don't have the metal templates to screw it into... Any solutions? If you guys need pics for more detail I'll be able to get some by the end of the day... Thanks in advance
Eagle
The switch panel isn't molded to the cover - it's attached by plastic studs that have their tips heat welded. It's easy to grind off the plastic welds with a Dremel and remove the panel. The dash mount module should be available from a junkyard XJ.
88whitemanche
Ok after messin with the dash cover I figured it out... never knew those little holes were to have the switch panel to hug onto while being screwed into place woodgrain panel installed will show previous switch panel I grabbed off of a Comanche with a bed light, I guess by seeing this type of panel never knew what to do until I started messing with the switch panel off a Cherokee today...
