Camper shell roof rack/ cross bars

Recommended Posts

I recently picked up a SWB Leer camper shell for my Comanche and I wanted to see if anybody has a similar camper shell white mine and either mounted some sort of aftermarket roof rails or crossbars to the top of it. Here's what I'm working with. (I.E Cherokee roof rails or any other rails)

Thank you!

I did this a few years ago on my Leer LWB shell:

Just installed a used junkyard roof rack from an S10 Blazer on my topper, so I thought I'd post the pics. The 1998-2004 S10 Blazer rack comes in two lengths depending if they are 2DR or 4DR. I had to narrow it a little to clear the hump on the shell, but the length was okay. These racks are nice because they can be altered easily front-to-back or side-to-side. Special thanks to Rich (Drahcir495) for the ideas.

That looks really good, I have the same issue with making the crossbars over the raised hump. I am hoping a Cherokee rack would work and clear it. My next option would be just mounting cross. I just need to figure out the placement so I can mount kayaks or basket on the future. Thanks for the help!

Kayaks would work fine on it, buy my 17' canoe - not so well....

Really nice truck. Off the subject but did you put the sunroof in yourself?

Hell no! I had a pro do it - didn't want any leaks.
