exhaust manifold doughnut??

I just pulled off the front exhaust pipe, from the manifold to the "cat".  There was no "doughnut" gasket there. Is that the way it is, just bolt the new one up? It also looks like you couldn't put one in. Before the back of the pipe rotted out the truck was quiet.

It's a 2.5l  4 cyl. Thanks !

If I remember correctly the 2.5 manifold has a donut shape mating surface so it doesn't need one.

Yes, that is just the way it looked to me when the pipe came off.  Thanks !
