I picked up another Comanche for $500. Gonna make it my DD. It has a 2.5 and have done the full gauge cluster swap on my 89 and wanna know if it's as straight forward as my 89. I know I have to change sending units. Wondering if I can just find one out of a pre-91 and throw it in or try and find an 86? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Eagle Posted August 17, 2016 Share Posted August 17, 2016 The speedo cable for the 84 thru 86 is different from the later models with mechanical speedo. For the early ones, you need to find one for a 4-cyl because there's no potentiometer to adjust for cylinders. You could use cluster from an 88 - 90 but you wound need a different speedo cable.
