New Internal slave cylinder compressed with plastic tabs

I'm ready to mount the tranny to the motor.  The new slave cylinder is compressed with plastic tabs, do I release those tabs prior to installing the tranny or do I just use the clutch pedal to break them loose after install?

I'm pretty certain the FSM says to leave it compressed until after you have installed it and bled it. After bleeding, the first time you use the clutch will break the tabs.

In FSM and in Luk clutch instructions you leave the straps alone until it's time to step on the clutch.
