Help with new floor pan install

Recommended Posts

Hello All

I'm working on replacing the floor pans on my 1990 Comanche and need help with the passenger side floor pan.

I'm installing new floor pans (CRC) and I'm missing the upper frame support and the two studs that are located on the upper frame support. I have seen a bunch of post on replacing the floor pans but none of them address this issue.

Any ideas on how I can add the two studs that are supposed to be located in the upper frame support??? Do they even sell the upper frame mount?

I circled the part I'm missing in one of the pictures I found online, the other pictures are of my truck;

Thanks in advance !!

That part probably doesn't exist. It was specific to the Comanche, not used in the Cherokees, and for that reason it's highly unlikely that any of the aftermarket body panel makers/vendors will have it. When my friend replaced the driver's floor in his MJ he used a spot weld remover to cut out and preserve the original part from his truck so he could reuse it after welding in the new floor. What happened to yours? Was it so badly deteriorated that there was nothing left, or did it get destroyed cutting out the bad floor?

Yes, the passenger side was gone.

The seat was held in place by the remaining two studs and when I took the carpet out to wash the studs were attached to it.

I was thinking of maybe welding a piece of rectangular tubing with a bolt attached , I just need to find something with the right height.

Thanks
